Win10 Library folders all labelled "Documents"

PC with SSD for OS and programs, HDD for documents/files/data.

PC freshly returned from IT after upgraded to Win10 64bit. Default library location after installation is C:\Users\UserName.

I've moved the libraries one by one using these steps https://www.dummies.com/computers/o...e-the-location-of-user-folders-in-windows-10/... now ALL shows "Documents" (but still with the correct Music/Pictures/whatever icon)

Any suggestions on fixing this? I've tried restoring default and restarting, still no difference.

All libraries are empty at the moment, still need to transfer my data to the HDD.

Do the physical paths exist ? eg. C:\Users\UserName\Music, C:\Users\UserName\Downloads etc.
 
Create the Directories for them. In Windows Explorer, right click on the items to be changed > properties > Location and enter the path to your newly created directories.
 
This is what the registry shows (I have very basic experience with this, guessing it is the correct path)

I did initially, however all got sorted under Documents for some reason? That is what I'm trying to fix. Now when I try to create the directories on the HDD (volume M) it again just all sorts under Documents.
 
Eeeek Regedit! Don't do that!

On a clean install those folders are there by default, so not sure what was done, but perhaps just do a 'Reset PC', then copy over your backups to their corresponding Folder names.
 
I changed my music folder to Picture then change it back. It can be fixed, it's just a pain in the ass.

That is strange behaviour, especially after a reset. Just check:
  1. With Windows Explorer, navigate to: C:\Users\YourUsername
  2. Check the Folder/Directory exists for each item on your list, if not, create the folder/directory.
  3. As an example, right click on the 1st Object eg: 3D Objects, left click on properties, select the Location tab
  4. Make sure the path name matches the directory/folder under C:\Users\YourUsername\3D Objects
  5. Check the above, for the rest of your Folders.

Run a Malwarebytes scan on that PC.
I've seen malware do worse, but it might be the cause.
