Windows 10 - is it ****?

Which settings menu?

Control panels, all settings menus smaller font and less wanted space. Can see all of a selected menu on a 1366x768 screen in win 7. Have to scroll more on some Win10 menus, and they don't' have the satisfying apply and/or OK buttons, you click that unsatisfying back arrow.

The only real issue with Windows 10 for me was the auto updating thing, but you can fix this via group policy editor so it's not a big deal. Other than that I cannot see any reason to continue using Win 7.
I see from other posts you didn't do 'Creators' update yet.
Some of GP settings is ignored (the most important one). You can't win this war with Microsoft. They want to install new botsnets every time they are tailored for a new number crunching job. It is why your hard drive is trashing all the time. Telemetry engine doesn't need to do it.

WIN 10 user experience

I see that the majority of replies confirms that Windows 10 is not at all evil and quite a smooth ride especially if you have it on an SSD.

For privacy concerns there are software similar to XP-AntiSpy for it as well, like O&O ShutUp10

I'm running 1703 build 16179.1, Redstone II prelease) on the insider fast ring
and haven't had any issues, as well as this being the fastest most responsive version I've used so far.

its better than when it first came out, it would be great if there was a minimal install option though.

You might know this already but type "control panel" into the search box. The old school settings are still there.

You can also get rid of all the tiles on the start menu, I prefer it this way and then looks a lot cleaner:

Oh, how do you do that?

Win 10 is the best OS yet.

The only "ads" I've seen is the windows store tile in the start menu which displays the featured content. This is pretty much in line with the whole idea behind the tiles displaying some content from the app. For example the news app will display headlines and your gallery app's tile will cycle through your my pictures, which means that if you auto upload your phone pics to your onedrive account, and you use that onedrive account on your work PC, your recent photos will pop up on your work PC start menu.

Not anymore, after creative update that one no more there.

NOOOO!, why would they remove that. It was awesome just right clicking and bam control panel, explorer, run and task manager all in one spot. It's two clicks.

Explorer Still there, I think (On Linux now so cant check), but I know Control Panel is gone was normally how I got there. I normally just press Windows Meta key + E for File Explorer.
