I installed 1909 manually, then it updated to 2004, will see what surprises are in store when I put in my SSD, this evening :(
My son's aging notebook updated this morning in record time (old non-SSD HDD), but my newish gaming notebook (SSD) is stuck on the reboot at 46% and has been stuck like this for nearly an hour now.

Not sure what to install on clients PC's anymore :cautious:
Use 1909 and then sometimes I'll do the updates if I'm feeling generous.
But, have not seen a single one update to 2004 yet. Neither have my laptop or home PC.
LOl's at Ver 2010

Nothing is consistent with anything produced by Microsoft :(

Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG) , requires Windows 10 Enterprise :cautious:
???
It's no longer available as of 20H2?
WDAG was renamed to MDAG. Should be "Microsoft Defender Application Guard" in the Windows Features window.

2004 blue screened my pc the first time it tried to install.
Luckily I could rollback to a previous saved time before the install.
It then tried to do the update but failed twice (without blue screening).
I cleared out the update folder left and for 2 days and then saw 2004 installed without a hitch. Go figure!

Microsoft has launched its October 2020 update for Windows, which brings a number of improvements to the popular operating system.

Not F again, please get your act together and do it right from the start, change for the sake of change, todays improvements are tomorrow's trash, no man 7 Billion cannot go the future this way, come on you got experience worth mentioning since NT/XP years.

Yup, 2004 wil nie install nie. So hoop maar 2009 werk.
Just download the media installation tool and update through that, it should put you straight on the latest one: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
And usually it's faster to download if you need to skip a couple of versions, as up until the 20H1 version, each major update was basically a windows reinstall. Big change from there is that those major updates are not installed similar to KB updates, so way smaller download sizes and faster install (the 2004 will still be slow as it's the one that sets it up I think).
1MB/s, ouch.

Yup, an hour and a half to download new Norton definitions from Tucows.

Why are you using Norton anti-virus? Just use Windows defender.

I'm too damn scared to update my laptop. Failed the last time and that was enough for me.

Every Pro edition I have has received the update, and not the Home edition. Anyone else with Windows 10 Home received the update?

Not that I am bothered by it, but I am curious as to how this is being rolled out. Yes, I can download the installation media which I already have, but that is not the point.
