Does anybody else feel the same way? All my software I installed before I upgraded from 8.1 run better but for some reason Windows 10 still feels rough around the edges

Depends, on my desktop and laptop I have no issues but Edge does seem lacking.
On my tablet, the experience could be better.

There's a major update coming soon so I hope that fixes somethings.

Yea I'm upgrading to 7 over the weekend, I've had endless issues with 10. 99% of it seems to relate to UAC and drivers not working, so I can't print, and my Microsoft IR remote control doesn't work unless I unplug and plug in the receiver after boot up. Not to mention the sharing issues, and amount of programs that don't startup correctly

I do feel that way. But not really relating to software, just the use of the operating system.

1. I got this problem with the works windows 10, whenever I goto create/Rename or move a file or folder, it takes me a folder back. Its like it refreshes all the time. - Solution - Use third party software to be able to work efficiently.

2. Somehow edge allows me to bypass .emc extensions password by just opening in Edge.

3. They still have not fixed the problem where you can name a folder "con". :p

4. Clicking start lags to bring up the menu.

5. To use Edge UAC must be on.

6. If i unplug my 3G and plug it back in, windows doesnt seem to find the device.(Perhaps a driver issue, but im done fixing issues.)

Personally I keep finding little annoying things.

+1

At first I was impressed with the OS, but now these little issues are making the whole process an unnecessary shlep, my absolute worst at the moment is the Google Drive startup issue, the Temp folder permissions just change out of the blue and then a whole lot of startup programs don't run

It is not in beta stage. Alpha 2 will be in November.

I been running on preview builds on my main laptop. Everything works fine, except for my 3G modem being blocked. Yeah I heard a massive update is coming our ways.

I just wish I had a sweet desktop so I can really feel Windows 10 - my main laptop is really slow, with an i7-2630QM processor and 8GB DDR3 RAM... The Hard Drive needs to be replaced :( Really don't wanna cough up money for this laptop.

Will be rebuilding my gaming PC next week and was going to install Win 10. But I've changed my mind, Win 7 it is. Solid and reliable (like XP :p).

DX12?

Not too far off.

Microsoft's originally-planned Windows 10 comes out next week, in an update called Threshold 2.

Early in 2015, at the request of big IHVs (PC makers), Microsoft agreed to help them with sagging PC sales by shooting for a release to make the big Back to School season.

They split the original Win 10 into a two-stage release, one for end of July, and the rest on the original schedule in Q4.

Next week you'll get it by way of an update.

Ok so next week is the actual release. Then per standard operating procedure I wait for SP1 (as per any Microsoft product).

So maybe mid year 2016?

:p

It is not true. It suggests that Microsoft was ready for the official release in July, but delayed to October on the request of hardware manufacturers. The truth is that Microsoft was not ready for release in July. Also it was not ready for 2nd October (as announced) either, it was delayed to November. Also on the request of the hardware manufacturers? Nonsence.

Welcome to the new world. Everything is now in perma-beta in an attempt to keep up.

I thought it was common knowledge that MS OS's are in beta till service pack 1 minimum?

Some stay in beta forever...I'm looking at you Win ME and Vista.
