Windows 10 still feels like a Beta

Wonder when Windows 10 Embedded will be released? Then I can disable all this stuff with Image Configuration Editor.

Btw the time we were done with Windows 8 Embedded there was none of the crap left.

Windows is still in pre-beta stage, this is a fact. Arthur don't tell you that.

The auto-updates make me seriously consider going back to 8.1. What really PISSES ME OFF, is the fact that you cannot even delay the update for a few hours or days. Yes, it says it will update on wi-fi only and not using mobile data, except my only form of internet connection during the week, is 3G. I use my tablet as a wi-fi hotspot. Not very pleasant to find a couple hundred megs disappear every few days. And I've tried everything to stop it. I'm terrified of the Threshold 2 arriving while I'm nowhere near proper wi-fi.

Besides that, I'm still unable to send/receive anything via bluetooth. Hugely annoying since I used this every single day. Yes, I have tried updating/re-installing drivers and removing/re-adding devices.

I should just go now because the more I think about this the more I ****ing hate Microsoft!

If you got Win 10 Pro tehn just head to the group policy for Windows Update and set it to remind you of updates but don't auto download.

For bluetooth rather use Wifi. For android there is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid&hl=en

Nope. It doesn't obey group policy settings. See my earlier message in this thread. UAC-like window pops up 5 minutes after starting Windows an if you don't press "Get updates" button, it is complete denial of service. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=312027&d=1446464401
There was a clean th1 installation in the middle of October. Since then there was no external connection, just keyboard and mouse. Two weeks later pop-up comes out on every boot and unless you accept updates, you can't work on Windows.

It just opens up Windows Update and then you can just close it. Sure it's a hassle but it will help him till the weekend (or whenever) when he does have data.

It doesn't download updates, sure? I wouldn't be so naive...

Besides, it you go to the updates (advanced) section, and click to download a selected update, it starts download all. You have absolutely no control on this Windows.

No will not download if you set it to notify for download and install.

And yes WU download all the updates. That's why for driver updates you don't want etc. you need to use this tool https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930
 
Im not overly happy with windows 10 to be honest.
I have it on my desktop and laptop, laptop has needed to be re-installed from image twice and desktop once because of random problems that caused boot loops or a generally unusable system.
I never had hassles with 8.1 though.
I *thought* I had another problem with my laptop a few days ago until I realised the problem was a faulty wifi card which was replaced and sorted the issue out.

Love Windows 10.

Only issue I found on 1 of my 4 computers running it is, my Dell XPS15 laptop, when I wake it from sleep, it takes about 2 minutes before I can type in my Pin to unlock it.
