Windows 10 still feels like a Beta

I really wish Microsoft would make Windows Update more flexible... choose the time interval(s) you want updates to be downloaded. This automatic downloading is a real bitch :(

Just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, version 1511, 10586. WTF, downloaded an entire OS and all I notice is the window title bars now have colour...? And all the tile garbage like xbox, people, phone companion, etc, that I so diligently removed is all back again.

I'm sure there's other good stuff somewhere under the hood, but really, for a nearly 3 gig download and re-install, colour me unimpressed.

At least I've had no issues and everything is working fine - thanks for that anyway MS.

i hated windows 8, but im actually liking windows 10 and think is quite good, except the update stuff and the spying nonsense

Yeah, that bugged me too - although I bet we see a lot more options for the consumer preview in the Spring. Mostly, I am amazed at how long it took to implement certain things. Like ctrl-v in the command prompt. In two decades they are just now adding that feature. Even the ability to right-click and paste hasn't been around long I don't think. And I've wanted to completely remove window padding since I first got a PC back in the 90's. Glad they finally are doing that - it looks much better.

Another thing I don't like, is that with the new start menu you have no real organization for the metro app area. No more columns or labels - it's just a mash of crap. Of course, this may get more features in the Spring too. However, I've already re-enabled the full start screen anyway (please don't remove that option!).

They learned that people tend to disable live icons and they loose advertising revenue, so they decided to make it more difficult. You will see that option to disable active content is moved deeper in the menu. ;)

Well it doesn't bother me any more as I'm back on Windows 7.

I felt my upgrade to from 8.1 to 10 was actually faster

I installed win10 32/ 64 bits, both give me problem. the problem is -> it can't start. for the first 2 - 3 times restart, everything is fine. But.....

yesterday, I installed the AVG, while updating, then suddenly freezed, then it restarted, then the blue screeen is here forever. win10 is really bad.

any solution? :(

Sounds something else is wrong, why would a fresh install not boot?

What are you on about :wtf:

it is not the matter with AVG.

1st time: freeze => blue screen.
2nd time: hard drive slow => freeze => blue screen.
3rd time: press start menu => freeze => blue screen.
4th time : freeze with old drivers => blue screen.
5th time: freeze with AVG => restart => blue screen.

what did I do wrong?
