Windows 10 Technical Preview - Insider Program

Yes, as above, Windows 10 is snappy and fast. Performing better than Windows 7 and 8. The new features and changes this far simply makes it a better operating system!

Agree on all house accounts!

That's quite unusual in my experience

What hardware were you running it on?

Quad core cpu, 4gb ram, nvdia gpu. The hardware should not come into play here as it's more than sufficient.

I'm not the only I've heard saying this and there's nothing wrong with the 8 install, it's just not as snappy as 7 and I'm the type of person that disables all effects.

Are they going to integrate Cortana into Windows 10, on all platforms (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Phone, etc).

For a preview the OS is quite stable, got it running in a Dell 1555 Studio laptop with an old Dual Core CPU.

I'm busy installing Steam now, going to see how it handles older games like Bioshock. Apart from the Start Menu and the virtual Desktops, the overall performance improvements is quite noticeable, as well as the tweaks to the UI animations.

It's going to be a good one that will have all those ladies blouses (complainers/haters of Win 8/8.1) be a little happier.

I had a problem with games running on my laptop. I did a reinstall of the games (EA Origin) and they ran fine after that.

I would love to see Cortana on Windows 10 Technical Preview :)

Do you think it makes any sense to run a tablet OS on a desktop or notebook computer?

It's not quite a tablet OS though, it has the makings of it, granted. Today was the first time this week that I opened the Start screen to launch an app which I hardly ever use. Other than that and from the first day that I've set up my PC, I've had a traditional Windows Desktop experience. Plus, I don't find the Start screen much of an annoyance, Mandriva has something similar.
