Windows 10: The Next Chapter

Hehe. You're right. Firefox beats it in 4 of the 6 benchmarks. I first ripped the headline from Windows Central, which referred to IE, and replaced IE with the other two when I saw the Anandtech source. Missed it on my phone, so my bad.

What's encouraging is Spartan - still in beta - beats Chrome and Firefox in both SunSpider and Octane 2.0.

A big improvement over IE. :)

I checked my region setting and it says that it is set to United States?? Unless there is something else I should do as well??

Also, are you using local or Microsoft account?

I'm using a local login account, and a few things refuse to work (Store Apps).

But I'm so happy with my computer right now, that I really don't care about it. :)

I was using a local account, then I read on a Microsoft forum that Cortana would apparently work if you sign-in to a microsoft account, so I did that, and it is still not working. Does the time zone affect this at all?? My time zone is set to Harare, Pretoria.

EDIT: I performed an upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium (this is the one that came preinstalled on my Dell laptop) to Windows 10 Technical Preview 9926. Did the upgrade not cause this issue of mine??

Change the timezone to Central American Time and see it it works?

Should make no difference if it was an upgrade.
 
I must admit, I am super impressed with this new Windows 10 Dev team.

Always wondered how Microsoft would sort out the Metro apps/classic desktop disaster, but in Windows 10 it's so seamless, it's actually nice to use it now.
 
Question .... can you buy a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet in South Africa, or must you order it from the States?

Cortana works now!! Looks like the microsoft account sign in and a restart did the trick.

EDIT: It is such a struggle to get Cortana to say my name and nickname properly :D

Can one use OneDrive on a private and domain/enterprise account simultaneously?
