It's available, but clearly being phased. Some people have it already, but not yet on my Insider profile. Sniff.

The latest build screwed around with the drivers for sound cards it seems.
Have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music card which just refuses to work with it. It had no problems with the previous builds.

Found a solution to the above mentioned problem. Someone on the creative labs forum page created a 'support pack' which seems to have fixed it.

I downloaded the ISO, burned it to DVD and then used it to:
1. Install in VMware
2. Upgrade my Win7 installation at home
No issues so far on either systems. Both are activated.

My 9926 installation on my home pc has gone for a ball of ****. Need to reinstall, but would rather wait until the next big release.
Any ideas when that'll be?

Check under Notifications > All Settings > Update & Recovery > Windows Update > Advanced Options, then choose the "Slow" option for how Preview builds are installed.
My 9926 installation is running better and faster every day, but I have been on the Slow update option since it became available.
I suspect the Fast path might be too aggressive for everyday use.

It is set too slow. It just crashes 5 minutes after a reboot.

My best guess then is a hardware driver update that went wrong.
Go to Control Panel and uninstall all hardware drivers.
Windows update will automatically reinstall it for you.

I'll rather start fresh, apparently the next release will be soon, so will reinstall my other OS partitions so long. Think I want to triple boot that beatch!
I really do not want Windows 10 to download the update for my sound.
I am using Windows 10 Technical Preview on my laptop (Dell XPS L502X). The normal sound driver I have for this works nicely, even the Dell Audio software works right. Windows installed an update for the sound (Update for Realtek Semiconductor Corp). This update causes my sound to be louder (the speakers make really scary pop/scratch sounds which could mean it is playing above its "range"), and my Dell Audio Software does not work.
Plugging in external sound devices does not work - A popup will show that I have plugged a device into the audio jack. Normally, a popup will show asking me what I plugged in then the device (headphones) would start working. This time however, I plug in a device, it shows the popup, but doesn't let me use the device plugged in (headphones). The Dell Audio software must have been uninstalled with this new update.
Is there anyway of preventing Windows from applying new updates? As far as I know, Windows 10 downloads updates automatically, and the only thing you can control is when new builds are installed onto your system.

Found the issue. Went back to Windows 7, got bsod every 10 minutes.

Why do I find that hard to believe.
Reported the issue to Microsoft via the feedback app.... I wish there was a way i could prevent windows from applying the sound update....I have rollback the driver if I want the sound to be what it was

There is a way where you can stop it updating drivers automatically, ( i had to do it for my AMD GPU driver) but I cant check on my work laptop as i need an admin password to do anything
will check on my little notebook and see if i can remember the procedure.bekdik

I think that if you hide the file (rclick - hide) on the download screen it will be ignored.

Yoh had a painful weekend converting my Ubuntu Media Server box to Windows 10.
Mostly because of it being LVM and not having space for more hard drives or big enough single drive to copy the data.
Formatted the drives I did use with Ubuntu in NTFS...and now Windows 10 won't read them.
Thought I had made an epic mistake and moved my data from one folder to another without mounting the drives, but the data is there when I boot into Ubuntu again so Win10 is having some issue with the way it was formatted.
Now I'll have to do the whole process from Ubuntu live CD and copy bit by bit since I've already allocated the drives to Windows 10 Storage Spaces.
