Windows 10 upgrade path and activation issues

Well i took the plunge.

Win 7 pro - >Win 10 pro.
First off, i hadn't updated windows in a while so i missed all the "reserve" your upgrade notifications and what not. So i google to find out the updates i need, got the notification, "reserved" my upgrade, nothing happened.

Downloaded Media creation tool, clicked upgrade, it downloaded, it installed, it works 100% no problems at all.

Oh? I received a unique product key when I upgraded my retail version of Windows to 10.

How did you receive your key? Microsoft aren't sending out keys to anyone for Windows 10 upgrades. They are just using generic keys and a hardware hash for activation. It's this hardware hash that's used for re-activation when you clean install, not a unique product key.

You sure? all my windows 10 laptops have the same key.

Yes, you are both correct. (I was incorrect.)

My win8 retail eventually worked using ISO method but my win7 oem asked me for a serial when I tried to open the ISO. Will try upgrade if something happens. Pretty chuffed with this hardware hash method

just go skip when it asks for a key...

I installed Win10 with the media creation tool last week. It completed on the 2nd attempt and there were some minor issues initially, but they seemed to sort themselves out pretty quickly. I really like it so far, except for one issue:

I cannot send/receive files via bluetooth. The icon shows in my taskbar but I cannot "right-click>send to bluetooth device". The laptop shows up on both my (Android) phone & tablet but when I try to send any files it fails every time. I've tried using the 'Intel Driver Update Utility' but it says the drivers are up to date. When I go to 'Device Manager' and right click the bluetooth device it says "This device is working properly".

Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Thank you

Have you tried pairing the devices again?

So after upgrading one machine from Windows 8.1 to WIndows 10 I'm getting the following error 0x8007007b when activating.

Also, windows is asking for a key to personalise windows.

Any help would be appreciated.
