Win2000 was very stable and a quality OS for its time.

Joke would have been MUCH more effective if it was mocking the mutated stillborn child that was WinME.

The source-code of the operating system. Was around 150 MB of text files if I remember correctly. They obviously didn't include graphics and other un-necessary stuff, just the source code for windows 2000.

P.S. Some simple googling: http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/2/15/71552/7795 Edit for correction, turns out only 15% of the source code was released, not the full thing.

Yeah, WinME was a joke. A reviving of Win98 when NT was being pushed.

I know what you meant, but I think this joke is quite unfounded since Win2k was wonderfully stable WinME and 98 on the other hand...

The only bad thing about Win 2000, was that it was build on NT technology, like it was a good thing.

Only issue with win2k was the long startup time.

Other than that it was actually stable, as long as you can manage to keep viruses and other nasty malware away from it.

I avoided 98 and ME. Upgraded from '95 in 2002. Only got XP a while after that. Win2k was quite kief!
