Windows 7 As Primary OS?

Anything in life requires time hey alf, do you think people who went from windows 98 to windows xp had an easy time?

Mostly what happens is people freak out when they are taken out of their comfort zone :). I doubt your mom, sister and what not would struggle as it is not like vista hides the most stuff to make it hard for non IT people. It is just different nothing is hidden away from the noobs.

My uncle went from Windows 3.1 to 98SE in one huge leap. :)
Had lots of phone calls...

when did i say everything else was crap? Have not said anything was crap, xp had its time and place but compared to vista and windows 7 it appears crap.

Do you even argue out of interest? You seem to jump to conclusions without any real basis to anything you post. I am assuming you do not understand sarcasm as both mine and aqua's post were sarcastic but of course you never picked up on that now did you noobcake :p

Vista is not perfect but it sure as hell is not a piece of rubbish software like some people claim. Vista was as good as the pc you gave it, give it a nice fast pc with 4gb of memory and you will be fine. run it on a celeron with 512 meg ram and it will suck something bad. Vista though is yesterdays news :), windows 7 is everything vista should have been :).

:) Who said i was arguing? I didn't even say anything to cause some kind of debate now did I? And because I'm e new member of a forum, does not make me a noob. Well, maybe a noob to posting on this forum. But I have been reading this forum a while before deciding to join in. Jumping to conclusions is what I do. Because I read what is said, then make a conclusion. :)

Hmm... says the n00b
Vista wasn't that bad... but it definitely wasn't any good either.

oh I feel so awfully offended by the n00b statement. You hurted my feelingz...

I'm using Vista Ultimate... Thank God I didn't pay... I'm keen to give windows 7 a try though. I enjoy changes. Now, just to find it...hmmmm.

If you did not pay for windows ultimate surely u can get windows 7 in a similar fashion.

I mean torrents, news servers all have it so should not be a problem if you pirate windows anyway :).

Man, I've been wanting to try Windows 7 for ages but everytime I consider dl and installing it a new build is leaked. Maybe now that I have a clean 320gb hdd I should just install win 7 on there and check it out :)

I suffer from internetlessness at home...:(

DRM is not a windows things as far as i know, i can play all my pirated stuff without hassle :).

Wga is not a problem if your not pirating or you have a laptop edition so not sure what the big deal is about both of those but anyhoo. It is quite simple, connect to net, activate software and bam wga is never heard from again :), now of course piraters of windows will complain about wga because its annoying :p

Stefan most companies do not develop for beta.

True but daemon pro is the only piece of software that I use that's not working under win 7. Everything else is working hence the frustration that we have to wait till some time near the end of the year or early next year before we get a working version for win 7.

Yup thats why for gaming you should have a seperate windows install :)

If you only use a pc for gaming then it is pointless having windows 7 for the moment, luckily i use windows 7 as my work pc so it is very useful for me :).

Anyone know what the most recent/latest build version was of a 32bit Windows 7?

What work do you use it for if you don't mind me asking?
Whats the sound support in it like, for audio production and for software like photoshop?

well i recreate logo's for printing so i use photoshop and corel draw, both of which open instantly and around twice as fast as vista and xp, with vista and xp you it would take atleast 5 seconds to open photoshop and the same for corel, now they open as you click on them straight after a reboot.

Windows 7 is mind blowingly fast. I was going to get the i7 but i do not need to because this pc runs so fast i cannot see how a new system would run faster.
