Windows 7 Beta 1 - Download here

Tried that.

Device manager still shows Ethernet Network Controller as not having any drivers. When I try to manually point it in the direction og the drivers, it insists that they aren't digitally signed, but the Nvidia site says they're WHQL drivers.

What's the name of the network controller? maybe you can find a generic version of the lan chipset drivers?

But don't forget to use device manager to install drivers.

OK, I finally got the drivers to work for my ethernet controller.

It was a long process and I must've tried at least 6 different drivers but in the end I used Fernando's optimized drivers from nforcehq. If anyone has problems with their ethernet under Windows 7, PM and I'll try to help.

I notice the colours of webpages in IE is funky, anyone else have that problem?

I'm gonna download FF 64 and see if it's better there.

Woohoo! :D

Yup, I know, I'm the man. :D (kidding)

Next problem to sort out is the colour on my LCD. In Windows XP, I set up an accurate colour profile using the Nvidia Manager but in Windows 7 it seems that if I look at the LCD from a slight angle, I can see a blue tint. Will let you guys know if that gets sorted.

Also installed Minefield aka Firefox 64 and boy is it a LOT faster than FF 32bit on XP.

Now that I got my internet working, Windows 7 is gonna be my primary OS no doubt.

If Windows 7 works as well as it does on your PC on my PC after I get my 4670, I will consider putting XP on a Samsung (Yes, Samsung FTW) 40GB IDE and putting Windows 7 on my Samsung 250GB SATA. Otherwise for now, its going onto the 40GB

Have you tried just unpacking the files from the archive then doing a driver update and pointing it to the unpack directory?

I saw, I have a bad habit of answering posts before I've read the entire thread.

I'm trying and the doctor says I'm getting better;)

Btw, Avast works well in Win7.

I have Avast on Windows XP no problem but on Windows 7 it won't update:confused: So I'm resorting to AVG

Quick Question: Anyone in JHB in the Honeydew area have a 64bit version of Win7 downloaded and availabe on DVD?

I have managed to download 98% of the file but it just sits there...says it's downloading but does not progress any further :(

Any help is appreciated.
