Windows Blog said:We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit
Is no one actually bothered that an operating system is 2.4 gigs in size??
A full-blown Linux distribution is 600 megs, and that includes a full office suite, media players, graphics editors, web browsers, e-mail clients, etc... how come Windows has to be so huge??
Windows comes with this thing called "drivers".
Linux comes with kernel modules. Most hardware works "out of the box".
Some hardware are not 100% supported, but that is more a shortcoming from the manufacturer side, than Linux in general.
Ah yes, I also find it strange how some hardware only works when the electrons that rush through their copper and silicon paths have tiny M$ badges on them.

Most of the linux distro's I've downloaded are 3/4/5 Cd's or a 3-4GB DVD.
The single CD version very often gives you very little.
