Windows 7 Beta Available tomorrow

Well that's really awesome and all.

However.

One problem for me. If I HAD a big enough cap to download it, I would. That's another story though. ;)
 
Is there anyone else that's part of the beta testers? I am a beta tester for win7 but can't find anyone else from sa... anyone out there?

Beta downloads for us started in the early morning for us... hopefully installing my copy tonight.
 
I will be getting it from my TechNet subscription tonight - see it was published yesterday already.

So yes, I'll be beta testing it.
 
3.2GB .. From microsoft connect site I am getting 300kbps but it breaks alot.
 
That sucks, so you have to have a subscription to be able to download it. I thought anyone would be able to download it and give Microsoft feedback as well as they are also the people who are going to be using the final version.

Yes, okay - I'm just jealous.
 
to add to your jealousy, on the 28th of december I got a package from redmon with a gfx card, pinnacle 7010i tv tuner card to test the new media center in windows 7...

When I enquired to microsoft why they are sending me hardware they replied with:

The hardware you received is for the upcoming beta based on the hardware questionnaire you completed on 12-2-08. The Windows Media Center content will be found on the dashboard under the Windows 7 Beta. We will be releasing information regarding our program in the near future and will be announced inside the Windows 7 newsgroups.

Would that count as the preferred card for MCE in Win-7?
 
for our location, I would guess so yeah... I read in the newsgroup that there's people in the states and UK who of which half got hauppauge cards and half the one i got... but havent seen anyone else in sa getting that.

just don't know what I am going to pick up by just sticking a dish into it... probably nothing i guess.

Tx, I'll just want to test the video inputs in any case.

The beta being released? What is the build number on it? Last one I saw floating around was 7000, I think?

Also, do we know if Win-7 is optimised for the i7?
 
It is build 7000 that got released to us.. but this is the official release

I saw one guy installing on a box with an i7 but he didn't say anything relating to it... other than that i dunno if its optimized.
