Windows 7 breaks Amazon records

I dunno alf, since i have started using 64 bit OS's i have never had a virus. With vista i never ran an anti virus, i just scan my pc one a week to make sure and it is the same with windows 7 64 bit. Actually i have not scanned my work pc this month at all.

I am pretty sure it is very hard to infect a 64 bit windows OS with a virus.

I pay for a lot of software alf, i bought corel draw 11 for 4k, all the computers in the office have legal xp stickers, i bought vector magic for 259 dollars when i could have pirated. If software is worth the money i will pay for it.

I haven't tried W7 yet, skipped Vista, reckon I may just buy this one myself after the 1st service pack.
If my other software works on it anyway.

Make sure though you buy the 64 bit version alf, just check what software you run before buying it though. Check it all works but so far i have yet to find software that does work. Daemon tools even works now that it is out of beta :D.

All those people giving Microsoft money to do the same thing they did before on the very same PCs.

What efforts?

Are you paranoid? Do you think I care? You project your own insecurities on me.
You won't find me upgrading to Windoze 7. Enjoy and Steve Ballmer says: "Thanks for the cash!" :)

Funny how someone who doesnt seem to care made the first comment on this post.

Im getting Windows 7 because it has pretty buttons... :o

I use Altbinz, MS Money 2007 and Airlog on XP. Otherwise, I use OSX for everything else.

Tell me when ubuntu gets released what changes do they make?

I mean why do people get so excited about the new ubuntu which has only a few changes yet put windows 7 down for having a few changes?

Would love to hear the answer aqua, is the new ubuntu radically different from the last? If not then why upgrade?

Not that I want to derail but this "new" ubuntu is called "9.10" previous was "9.04" :D

No ubuntu user says it's radically different, there are some new features added (proper pulse audio, new software manager and some new geeky stuff)which is what we're exited about.

Yup windows 7 is an awesome OS and it will make microsoft tons of cash and they deserve it.

Anyone with half a brain can see how good windows 7 and will buy it.

Jinne!! this made me laugh...thanks for making my day better Killadoob;)

vector magic costs 2 hundred and 60 friggen doll hairs?

it's good, but man, it's not that good!

Keeper in my line of work it saves me around 6 7 hours of retracing logo's a day man.

It was worth every penny. I get around 20-40 logo's a week i need to recreate and then colour sep, now before vector magic i had to redraw all these logo's, now i just save it at 1000 dpi, pop in vector magic and depending on file size i have a redrawn logo within 2 minutes.

Worth every damn penny for me.

It is that good, there was nothing else on the market that could redraw logo's with such accuracy, i still do now know if there is.

Illustrator comes with trace, I'd rather get Illustrator... much better in my opinion.

Illustrator is killing off the vector market that corel dominated.

LMAO

Have you ever used vector magic? I am betting you have not or you would not be saying what you just did. Loads of people actually have both like me, corel is just far simpler and it works much better for what i need than illustrator.

http://www.google.co.za/search?q=ve...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a go download it and come tell me illustrator can redraw stuff as well.

Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it.

I hope you enjoy Vista 2.0 too :D

Been enjoying a while already and may I say this is the best OS experience I ever had. No terminal, remembering command lines, compilations, driver problems, ftp downloads, special tweaks ....., NOTHING. Just install, click, clicks and it all WORKED and still works!

Go put that through illustrator see how it comes out. Then try vector magic.

But remember some do not even have the half a brain, only maybe half a cell!

:D

Yeah ok... I have not used it but I'm used to trace and I can convert logos in minutes.

Yea that was more directed at people who like windows but won't change from xp :D.

So you are telling me illustrator is better than vector magic without having used it?

Put that through i wanna see illustrator's results :D, i have illustrator so i know but i want to see if you can get it half usable because i cannot, corel draw should be shot for their trace tool. Absolutely shocking as is illustrator's for low quality images. With vector magic all i needed to do was redo the writing.

It is amazing how many companies do not have good quality images of their logo.

Same here and I use Ubuntu.

Be honest now?
I am waiting for Kubuntu 9.10 to restart the effort to get a decent Linux distro working for development work. Will feed back soon I guess. I downloaded many on the free WA trial to play with. Now if I can just get a decent site with information of all the terminal commands that can be used and how they are structured we have a winner. I prefer click click icons.
