Windows 7 cracked

I seriously doubt Microsoft mind if home users are pirating Windows 7. They make all their serious money off of OEM deals and site licenses issued to companies.

They'd rather have people using illegal versions of Windows than not using Windows at all.

I think in this case they'd be particularly pissed because it's the Ultimate version - most home users would end up with the Basic or Pro versions installed with PC's they buy.

I think they'd be less worried about those versions.

Been using the beta (not even the RC) for quite a while and it's rock solid. Their best effort up to date in my opinion. Will definitely buy it when it comes out.

Microsoft would prefer you pirate their operating system than us a FOSS alternative.

The government has a higher responsibility towards us.
It is a caretaker of our welfare.
It has to maintain the environment where we can all live healthy, prosperous lives free from persecution and fear.
Where we can improve ourselves.
Irrespective of the citizenry the government has responsibilities.

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible to live without breaking laws."

it's one of MS few products i would actually buy if had the money for the high price that they ask for it.

Ja, I've been seeing this all over the P2P sites. Not gonna get that. I'm gonna get me a legal version.

Jip! XP has last me ages and it looks like W7'll do the same thing too. :)

How much money are we talking about for the Ultimate x64 version?
I guess not far below R3000? That's insane.

Happy linux user is happy...

Especially when hearing about M$ getting one up the posterior...

Yep, gonna try the 'patch' in a vm this weekend. Sooner or later MS will release their patch to disable it like they did with Vista initally. Then we wait for a better one :D

There was already a reply to the whole Lenovo OEM issue, so yeah it wont work unless skipping updates is your thing.

Forgo "automatic" updates and just download the SP -- in toto ( not "tonto" :D )

After all the blood sweat and tears -- some things remain the same -- "security updates".

It is good to know that we are still standing on solid ground :D

Agree.

With what I'm hearing its worth it to go legal. Look at XP, gave us many years of good value.

If you don't want to pay then go the free OS route - LINUX / BSD. :D :D :D

No excuse to pirate.

Good point, bad backing up. I don't support piracy but you say "Look at XP, gave us many years of good value." What about the short time with Vista? From same company.
