Windows 7 put to the test

I tried that with no luck. Just make sure yours did not use up your international bandwidth.

The line i use at work is based on a routing firewall(which is pretty much the same job as your normal home router)
I used the international occount to start the download then paused their dl manager thing. Then I removed the international account form the router and put the local one in its place. clicked on resume and it pulled it right to the end. I just got an sms from axxess now confirming the bandwidth useage so it definately worked.

PB won't be fixed until windows is released and remember vista drivers are your friend :p

Thanks bru, im busy pulling the vista drivers atm. Which drivers are you using for you gfx? did you pull the Vista drivers from Nvidia or did you use those crappy drivers in windows update?

Nvidia drivers, i am using the vista drivers but nvidia have windows 7 driver i have heard, just check the site for windows 7 drivers.

I don't windows 7 to game really because of pb but i have got riddick loaded and it works 100%.

Nvidia released new beta drivers for windows 7 a few days ago, I'm busy downloading it.

I just did the upgrade trick on two PCs that was running beta and it was flawless. One of them was my workstation and it has loads of stuff on (VS2005 & 2008, SQL Server 2008, Office 2007, Oracle 11G 64bit client, Handbrake, Google Earth, Nokia PC Suite, TortoiseSVN, Ulead PhotoImpact, BOINC - to name but a few) all of which works perfectly after upgrading.

Only new thing I noticed is the new look logo in the RDM client.

I am even more impressed with 7 now ! :p

Love the retro wallpapers, my Linux desktop is very grateful..

Thank you Micwoswoft.

Yea if only linux could be as creative as microsoft hey aqua :). Kinda sad to see linux people stealing windows stuff :p still in windows shadow i suppose they always will be.

still in windows shadow i suppose they always will be.
If only they would accept that they will always be there and then start working their way to be 100% windows compatible (in terms of binary execution, drivers, the lot of it). Windows is so popular because it just works. I mean why else would people opt for something they would have to pay for instead of something they can have for free?

I put on the default ubuntu wallpaper and then when people see it and go "Cool - are you running Linux?!" I just fire up UnrealTournament 3 and they realisize that I am running something much more capabile that a freebeerhobbyOS :p

Why would I need UT3 when I actually have work to do? besides when i feel like gaming I boot up the lonely 7 drive that feels rejected everyday the grub bootloader ignores it... shame... I actually feel sorry for it. :p
