Hey guys.

I've been using windows 7 for a while on several PCs and notebook but I can't get its networking to deliver the goods. I've tried several of the so called quick fixes but none of them worked.

Today I reloaded my pc with the hope to get faster disk transfer rates. I use Intel DP45SG mainboard and it support several different modes in its SATA controller.

On my previous load of windows the networking actually worked fine. I have no idea what I did there but now I am back to the old crappy slow, less than 1Mbit/s network connection Windows 7 is so proud of.

What the hell am I missing and why on earth don't Microsoft fix the bloody issue seeing that it's been around since Vista.

only one solution

there is only one solution to your conundrum. its called ubuntu.

Uhhh, yeah, but Ubuntu is not equal to excellent gaming experience. And I'm looking for answer other than those which I already know about.

Sorry to state the obvious, but do you have the latest drivers and bios updates installed?

No problem.

Latest drivers, definitely. BIOS update. actually, no. But you know the funny thing is, the problem sortof subcided. I haven't been able to confirm transfer speeds to WinXP and Linux machines but my download from the internet is certainly much faster now.

I'll do the BIOS update anyway. Didn't think it was necessary though.

A few systems need BIOS updates, but if it's working fine now then I wouldn't mess with it.

If it aint broken don't fix it they say. :)
