Good stuff! I've had it up to here with inconsistencies in the Mac operating system.

Everything you do on a mac you can do on a Windows PC for much cheaper. Plus - the best part of a PC - it can run on God's gift to mankind and supercomputing : AMD processors.
Careful... we are on 10.6.2 already (since October 2009)... 10.6.3 is a MAJOR update and is looming around the corner (in beta mode atm) @ 600mb+ That's one hectic upgrade to fix issues. 7 has yet to release a service pack. (not that it's necessary ... YET) I still prefer OSX though. I dual boot OSX and 7 but only use 7 for gaming. I use OSX for workload purposes.

Graphic design... try opening a 1gb+ design with numerous layers in Photoshop on windows and work with it. Try open a 300 page annual report in Indesign on PC. Lag much! Try editing a 60 min HD video on a pc (God knows what programme will handle that well on PC) - WORKLOAD dude!
Best of all, try doing the above in Windows with my specs - see below... It's a PC btw.

Windows 7 will do it faster on the same hardware. Just remember to make your swap file fixed size. Unix goes so far as yo make a dedicated swap partition.

I have been a windows fan for years... Only after working in OSX, did I realize how efficiently the os uses resources when handling large files. The reason why I installed OSX on my PC was to take advantage of that. (or I would'nt have bothered) The hardware is the same... the os not! I should know, I work in a mac based studio and have tried to maintain the same experience in windows at home. The large swap-file needed to perforrm similar tasks is the downfall of windows. That is what slows down your experience compared with a mac. OSX handles RAM better than windows. I still like windows 7 though... for when I find the need for it.
PS: What have you guys done with PeterCH? Expected walls of text from him by now.

Hate to break it to you smart-ss, but Tata moves a larger volume of Indica cars than Daimmler moves of MB CLK500s. If you can't see that, then you don't understand your native language, English.
And I didn't say that. I said the sales of the MB outperform the Indica, i.e. more Indicas are moved than MBs. Why do people assume that 'sales' means individual price of cars. 1 sale = 1 car sold, irrespective of the price. Fewer really expensive yet highly performing cars are sold than cheaper, less well performing cars.
Win 7 is that Tata Indica here. It's a decent car, it will get you from A to B but the MB will do it better (safer, smoother,faster). Win 7 will work, but OSX is easier,more powerful, safer.

Both os's are great for normal activity. I still prefer OSX as it has more value for money. ie. I bought the Mac box set for R1699 which comes with i-life. i-life includes i-dvd, i-movie, i-photo, i-web and garage band. (Garage Band is awesome - Watch this space... I will release a dj masterpiece some day!)
I bought Windows 7 Home Premium for R1250-00... and that's all I got!
Disappointed with Steve Jobso over the iTampon.

It's not. Unlike Win 7,OSX has no BS eyecandy. And just does its job well.
Problem is that the people who flame Macs, have not used them and the people who punt Win 7 are usually those who are in awe of it's kewl skin and eye candy. After all, Win 7 doesn't do much more for you than XP did. It won't type the doc foryou. It's vulnerable to viruses too.
Which is fair and I use OSX Leopard and Win XP SP3 and both are GOOD ENOUGH. WIn 7 and SL not required.
Wait - Win 7 is kewl because I can play DirectX 10 and 11 gamez on it!
Except most gamez still work on Win XP without certain lamer MS pundits making artificial restrictions to push Win 7. Yes game publishers still want to sell gamez to Win XP users.
Then MAC OSX sucks because it has few gamez.
Yes, I can get native OSX gamez - but they suck because there's no < insert name of newest game featuring homo erotic scenes with muscled up dudes with guns and explosions >
Except you can run Windoze XP, 7, Vista on a Mac natively....! SHOCK.
