Malwarbytes scan picked up the following hidden directory on a clients PC: c:\lin\ux\setup.exe. I was slightly amused by the discovery but google did not shed much light on what kind of bug this might be. Any ideas?

Your computer was not infected with/by linux.. thats why.

Someone just used that as a Windows path.

@w1z4rd: Lighten up, just joking ;-) Just wonder why a software producer will put an executable with that name in a hidden folder? This notebook has the bare minimum of software installed, although there is a program that is used for geological borehole logging that might have its' roots in Linux.
@Librarian: Should've kept the logfile, will ask her to email me - things were done in a mighty rush!
