windows VS apple

The Apple hardware is awesum, but way overpriced.
As the OS goes, it's not bad, but you might not find all the software you have on windows.
Linux is a different kettle of fish.
If your not into gaming, go for linux or buy a expensive apple.

OS X has some cool functions that i can't live without. Just like someone else might have stuff on windows that they are use to.

yeah I was thinking about that..

But does anyone know the life span of a apple or just laptops in general?

Like cell phones.. Most only live to 2 years.. and then something goes wrong..

so just want to know about laptops...

Like what? I know the whole finger thing on the laptop.. that's pretty cool.. but it's just extras.. anyway..

I agree with you ^ ^

There is not one Operating System in this world that is right for me. Sad but true.

For you, just get a Mac if you are not IT savvy and can afford it. Provided you don't want to play all the latest games.

kaisterkai: if you are really this interested, google "PCmacSmackdown".

Why i love OSX (not why it's better) in no particular order:
1) Native Pdf viewing (quicklook also does excel, word and powerpoint without any software)
2) NO viruses!
3) No bubbles to tell me i've plugged in a USB.
4) Sleep
5) shortcuts like option+shift+4
6) for some reason OSX apps seem more polished to me
7) bluetooth just works
8) iLife (not so big but i feel like putting it in)
9) All devices i have plugged in "just worked" without me having to install drivers
10) Native Dictionary (i can hold the cursor over a word and press ctrl+d to bring up definition. I use this A LOT as my first language isn't english)
11) Spaces (mixed feelings but still useful)
12) EFI (helps to do easy fixes)
...

Some questions...

I find it funny how it's alright to have a native PDF viewer on a system but God forbid you put a internet browser without being slapped with a anti-competitive fine.
2) NO viruses!
3) No bubbles to tell me i've plugged in a USB.
What do you mean no bubble?
Are you referring to a key that puts the system into suspend mode?
5) shortcuts like option+shift+4
What does this do exactly? Take a screenshot of a region of the screen?
6) for some reason OSX apps seem more polished to me
7) bluetooth just works
8) iLife (not so big but i feel like putting it in)

Even none-Apple devices? That's impressive.

*) "bubble" in taskbar when it detects network or usb device
*) Sleep put the computer super low power mode, ready to be instantly "woken" again
*) "option+shift+4" . There are many different shortcuts i use which you can google. THIS ONE is used to take screenshot of a region of the screen, hold in ctrl also and it cuts it to the clipboard.

Like i said these things don't nececeraly make OSX beter but for ME it does, as this was the question to my first comment.
