No im not like the linux okes, i don't tune people they must drop their OS for Vista

I just defend the fact that vista does work well and should be sold just not on laptops

Also i just feel alot of people who try Vista give it 2 minutes and say its crap, once you get to know Vista you will not go back to XP provided you have the computer to backup Vista

When i first got Vista i didn't like it, mostly because it was different and didn't feel like XP but i kept it on for a month and said if i still don't like it i will drop it, then i never uninstalled it :)

I will defend Vista because its awesome :), its actually the xp okes who sound like the linux guys, always telling people to downgrade to xp

Us Vista okes say, use what you want but Vista is really good :p

1gb ram, 1.8ghz cpu, 500mb graphics card. A lot of my games are faster in Vista and explorer is also faster. I use sp 1 on Vista

Fair enough :)

You are right about the laptop thing. Needs to be really quite high-end to run Vista nicely. Better sticking to XP .

Is that a dual-core CPU? And what kind of gfx card? Did you find that SP1 helped at all?

For me, Vista on 1GB RAM is teh suxxorz.
 
Suprized you can run games with 1GB although i suppose you can use the Page file but its awfully slow compared to more memory.

Is an Athlon Xp 64 bit cpu. And a Radeon 1650pro agp gfx card. I can play Crysis on medium settings. Can also play games like Blacksite, Turok and Devil May Cry 4 without problems :D

Interesting...

Vista, even with 2GB RAM sucked for me. On a machine with similar specs. Not for gaming, but for everything else.
 
+1 for Vista
Loads my apps faster, no crashes, games is better and omw office is so much faster
xp black is a load of cr*p. Try the new windows theme in vista.

I'll post some screenies of a couple of themes tomorrow when I'm on the machine running the Windows Blinds. I went for a clean, uncluttered look, but you get some really impressive/busy themes.

Edit - I'd actually like to give Vista a bash, but it's just useless on my work machine and I'm NOT installing it on my EEE or on my desktop, which is kinda old by now.
It's not that my work lappy can't handle Vista - it came with it, in fact, and ran quite smoothly. It's the fact that hardly any of the software I use will work on it, which is really rubbish, I think. It's not MS's fault, but if I can't use the computer to do what I want it to do, it's useless to me.

Rhetorical question.

Of course it's MS' fault. They brought out an OS which wasn't finished
yet, full of bugs and with extravagant requirements (to please
HW manufacturers who were tired of people using older hardware)
to do exactly the same thing which the older OS did.

Not like Vista adds anything to productivity, does it? It just slows
things down, and 90% of people out there DO NOT NEED VISTA
and DO NOT NEED FASTER Computers to do the same thing they've
been doing on their older machines for years (browse web, use IM, use email, use Office, Photoshop, accounting software, burn a DVD/CD, put songs
on their iPod, play basic games etc).

Vista is just DRM laden garbage.
