Windscreen wiper blades

Oh sorry misunderstood you there. You mean to say you just need the silicon part and not the metal backing that holds the silicon. But either way should work? With or without the metal backing? Or you saying your wiper blade metal frame backing can't come off your car?

So it does come off - my problem was the size difference - firstly, none of the stores had the longer length for the driver side. and then I would need to buy two sets of different sizes even if they did...

So prefer the idea of just getting the silicon part

OK understand what you mean. It is weird that they don't sell them as each. They should offer sets and each. Well whatever makes you happy.

Just out of curiosity is there a need to go through all that trouble to try find it meanwhile there is so many brands out there with similar technology. A lot of the things now are all mass produced from maybe the same or similar factories.

Wouldn't hit and miss be the same as trying a different brand and see what happens? And it is like R100 items which guaranteed even the worst of quality should last 1 year minimal.

For me personally i want that specific one again. best wiper i've ever had. i must go test my durablades on my fiesta again and see how they are since its been a few years, haven't used the wipers in a while. but its trippy to watch how dry it makes the windscreen from just the very first wipe, even if the windscreen is dirty. cheap and works like a charm whats not to like.

Guys... can't find the proline blades anywhere :/

I recall Honda having dealer only wiper blades a few years ago on the Civic and Accord iirc...

It's madness. It is in fact (in spite of all the anti renault sentiment here) the only thing I don't like about the car. Look, it needs a proprietary key to remove the sump plug, but that was nothing I couldn't solve with a half inch drive extension and a bench grinder.

For those who prefer using OEM blades, don't buy a Honda. They quoted me just under R500 per blade (R1500 for all three). Bought three Bosch blades at the spares shop for under R300 total...

The original OEM blades were also pretty much shot after 4 years, so it's not like they're made from some sort of super material that lasts forever.

Four years is not a bad innings for wiper blades. A quick google suggests changing blades every 6-12 months is not uncommon.

Well, if you need to replace blades every 6-12 months anyway, I would rather opt for the cheapest, decent blades (i.e. Bosch) than a slightly better, but 5+ times more expensive, OEM blades.

Honda dealership asked me if I really wanted to spend R1K on new blades for my 2015 Ballade or I could just go down to Midas and spend R150 on Bosch blades. Midas even installed them for me.

Honestly Durablades aren't that great i prefer the Bosch ones at Midas

i beg to differ, best blades i've had, mine are about 4 years old. used the car this week after a long time, with the rain they work work perfect, no streaking at all. i too want some new durblades/proline blades, just to keep.
