I'm currently on TI DSL 3GB package and have been thinking of downgrading to the 1GB package and then signing up for a uncapped wireless solution. Don't need anything fast - would just like stuff to trickle in 24x7 :)

Wireless Online have a uncapped 192k which isn't badly priced. Anyone using them? What they like?

What kind of latency can I expect? Every now and again I play online games - would I still need to play using my DSL - is the latency with wireless still a lot?

Any feedback would be great.

I have heard nothing bad about them. I am a WISP supporter & would recommend the move to a WISP. Against many of this forum' opinion... ;-)

If you want to play games i would not recommend any uncapped solution. WISPs typically used highly contended uncapped IS ADSL lines for this. I was previously on an uncapped line & the move to capped services was a heaven send. Would never go back.

Good luck with the search.. Also insist on owning the equipment & go the mikrotik 5GHz solution. Its makes it easier changing WISPs later ;-)

To put it simple if you can rather get adsl then go for that. Thing with wisps is that service levels can't be garenteed over a over utilized spectrum, and the fact that you have to buy a kit from them for R2500 if not more nowadays.

If you realy dont have another option than a wisp stay away from uncapped accounts, they normally have a content ratio of 20:1.
