Hi Guys.

I recently had a Netgear DGN2000 (100-PES) router+modem get struck by lighting. I would like to know from the MyBroadband community on which router+modem I should consider buying next. I've heard bad things about the DGN2200 so I wont be looking into that model. Perhaps D-Link, linksys? Something with wireless-N functionality. I need your guys recommendations please (Model Numbers included).

Greatly appreciated. :)

If you don't mind having 2 devices (ADSL modem and a WiFi AP), then I would suggest that you get like a D-Link DSL-2500U (ADSL modem) and a TP-Link WR1043ND (1x 1Gbps WAN port, 4x 1Gbps LAN ports, USB 2 for Storage/3G & 802.11n WiFi).
In total, they should cost you around R1000 (excl shipping). The D-Link can be bought from Sybaritic for R200 (ex shipping).

If you don't need Gigabit LAN, then you can go for a cheaper WiFi AP.
Check out Uniterm Direct (www.dbg.co.za) for TP-Link routers/AP's.

The reason I suggest 2 separate devices is so that you only have to replace a cheap ADSL modem if it gets struck by lightening.

You'll see that Uniterm Direct also has TP-Link ADSL modems with wireless N.
