No offence, but R2485 p/m for an uncapped 5MB connection where it stresses on your site that it's only for "Lite web browsing" seems a bit over the top... I could get 3x 4MB uncapped amobia connections for that price.

If you're close to Clearwater Mall, why aren't you considering Afrihost Mobile Data? MTN LTE signal is very good in that area.

Hi Murmaider,

Our SOHO 5Mbps Package is R1145.00, you would need to add this to a base connection of R550.00 per month.

Total price of a 5Mbps Uncapped package is R1695.00

This package is designed for Small business and is a guaranteed service with a 3 hour on site response time in the event of a failure.
We guarantee a 99% operational up-time when measured over 30 days.

BitCo will be launching a Home offering in Q1 of 2014 with uncapped packages to compete directly with ADSL services.

Regards,

I will keep an eye out for your home offering.

The WISP's in that area are hellishly expensive. Those who are reasonably priced are, bluntly, shyte.

You are better off setting up a point-to-point wireless setup to a mate with ADSL yourself and share the costs than go with a WISP.

BitCo is busy testing a new home offering in the area. It is not officially launched yet, but the following home services are currently being tested:

1Mb Uncapped - R 877 per month
2Mb Uncapped - R 1026 per month
5Mb Uncapped - R 1482 per month

It is a high quality, reliable broadband product and not much more expensive than DSL when you include the R180 line rental from Telkom.

2Mb Uncapped with Telkom R514 and 4Mb is R644 Line rental included Bitco comes to almost Double!

Hi Isie

Thanks for the feedback. If I look at the home bundles on Telkom's website I see the following prices:

2Mb Uncapped Data + Line + DSL = R 705
4Mb Uncapped Data + Line + DSL = R 951

Am I incorrect or missing something?

Hi Garthvs
You are Semi Correct
Telkom our Incumbent are a wealth of lack of information :) The deals i refer to are the Simple option, not sure why it doesn't come up easily but here you go:

https://secureapp.telkom.co.za/camp...content=home_promotions&utm_campaign=simple_3

I went in to the store and called them to esquire any one can get these only difference is current ADSL users don't get the free router and 3G bundle, but price is the the same none the less.

Note line speeds have been upgraded so 1 Mb is now 2Mb and 2Mb is now 4Mb

Oh and month to month no contract to be signed, at least that's what they told me

Thanks Isie

I see the line speeds will only be fully upgraded by 1 March 2014.

Would you be interested in using our service for 1 or 2 months to see how it performs? This would be at absolutely no cost to you.

man why didn't you ask me last week :D - Ill have to get back to you I signed with Telkom but I am waiting for them to confirm if they can install a phone line in place or not.

Oh why don't you contact RPM and get your self registerd as a Company Rep for Bitco?

Well not sure if Amobia services the area but there 2Mb uncapped synchronous serious is R499 a month.

Hi Isie

Please let me know if you are unable to get services from Telkom. Our offer still stands... we will let you try our services free of charge for 1 or 2 months.

FYI here are a few latency tests so clients know what to expect in JHB area.
