Witchfest 2015

So who is actually going? I know PrOd is, and I am. Anyone else?

So I couldn't take sitting at home on Friday so caved and bought a ticket.

Exceptionally glad that I did.

What an epic, epic, epic weekend of metal.

My favourite bands were Cannibal Corpse and Septic Flesh

I'm tired, hungover and beaten but it was well worth it!

Glad you made it! Decapitated, Fleshgod Apocalypse and SepticFlesh were particular highlights for me.
 
I was a little disappointed with Decapitated - that vocalist just doesn't do it for me.

I much prefer the vocals from their first 3 albums.
 
Cannibal Corpse were ****ing incredible!

I think I'm going to need a week or 2 to recover from the beating that I took in the pit.
 
Holy fscking shiiieet. Decapitated, FA, Aborted & Septicflesh were best for me. Mad respect for Decapitated who didn't even have their equipment there ;D. And I really loved the way Septicflesh's lead was with the crowd, seem like nice guys...and of course...Krimh!

I just seriously hope that Witchdoctor have enough resources to make this a yearly event.

I was also surprised that the Bassline had more than enough space in it for all the people - I really thought that it was going to be cramped.

I also discovered found for the bands that I didn't really know standing at the bottom by the sound desk was the best - could see and hear the bands and had the bar and toilets right behind you :D

It was fantastic seeing the int. bands hanging around the crowd, at the upstairs where the merchandise was. I never stood in a queue for a beer, neither for toilets. Also, me and my mates permanently hung out at the back where you're describing, best spot ever. Bassline was really great.
 
Yeah dude - think the longest I waited for a beer was maybe 2 minutes or so.

And even when the big bands were on there was plenty space to stand / headbang comfortably.

I take back all the negative things I have previously said about the festival - it just sucks that it flew by so quickly.
 
My only complaints would be no charging stations & f#cked up outdoor toilets.
 
Yeah those outside toilets were not fun - I didn't camp - a mix of lifts and Uber taxis got me to and from the venue - so I got showered and changed at home :D

The crowd was amazing - for the local and the international acts. The mosh pits were rather intense as well - I was only involved in the CC pit and it was brutal - but fun.

As for the production quality it was pretty damn amazing as well - sound was near perfect to my ear.

Would've liked to see Epica though. I like me some symphonic power metal. Their live album with the orchestra sounded incredible! Other than that I'd love to see Orphaned Land, Anubis Gate, Teramaze and Stratovarius live... Would be an epic prog-power show!
 
I skipped Epica - by the time SepticFlesh was done I was so buggered - and also they aren't my cup of tea.
