Wits students protest over tuition fee increase

That you use a non related pictures you saw of students sitting in groups to justify your view of the bakkie incident. Simple hey? Are you at varsity?

That's empire road when students were sitting on the road. That was where he drove through them. The pics I'm showing are before the incident. Someone said I must prove that the students were sitting before the students. They chased after the car.

They are all savages.

They should be expelled, and jailed.

???

Where do you get that from ?

You said she probably broke her leg when they rolled the car. How could that happen if she wasn't a casualty of the car rolling the wrong way while she was helping. Not even a 3 year old is dumb enough to just stand next to a car that's about to be rolled over. How do you even know she chased after the car? For her to be near it she must have had to chase after it.

Crazy conjecture !

Revving your engine seems like a threat to me. That's why the students got up. He then drove through, hurting 4 students in the process (who probably couldn't get up fast enough). Nobody said he was trying to kill anyone (he just could've killed someone). He expected the students to get up anyway to get out of the way, what he didn't expect was that they would retaliate. Putting myself in his shoes, I'd expect the students to be pissed at what I'd just done but wouldn't expect them to run after me.

Just like the threat of making places ungovernable, so you protesters can make threats but non-protesters can't? Or is threat making allowed and thus what the guy did was of no issue?

Good luck to any 2015 Wits, Rhodes or UCT student whose CV ever lands on my desk. I'll make your job application "ungovernable".

So they didn't study, are flunking and are now trying to get out of exams by doing this?
Give them all a criminal record.

Sammy boy is just grasping at straws to try an save face - after proclaiming that the protests were completely peacful.

In years gone past Wits normally just calls in the riot police to sort these clowns out - I reckon they should do that again.

Rubber bullets and tear gas for everyone!

Probably going to be flamed but I don't care ......this is why the cops went mad at Marikana . The citizens can't act lawfully and need to be policed. They carry on like a bunch a drink or drug fuelled crazy barbaric idiots

Hey Sammy
Those students "sitting in the road" were violating a fundamental right enshrined in the bill of rights and the constitution - the right to freedom of movement. They had no right to block roads.
How do you justify taking away someone's rights in order to further your own selfish aims?

That's actually a very good point that probably hasn't dawned on these students.

I wonder if the leaders of these students have sat down with the staff of the University - the labourers, the cleaners, the gardeners - and told them that they should not be getting a wage increase this year because the students don't feel the need to pay more.

Don't be ridiculous.

I highly doubt they've thought further than the here and now.
