Wits students protest over tuition fee increase

“We have several white comrades who are on our side but unfortunately the proposed fee increments are going to be affecting the working-class students more than anyone else.

So whites are never working class.

We are totally outnumbered and outvoted.

Democracy - very bad thing.

Um, nope... sorry...

The increase was rejected, and they want Free Education. The terms of the protest are constantly changing it seems...

And I'm telling you that's nonsense. Breakfast then lecture then protest. That's Wits' schedule for today. When did this march you're talking about happen exactly?

Ok, so we must believe a random poster on this forum who has been proven wrong a few times, instead of the radio and news reports that so far have proven to be pretty much on the money...

Nope. Not free education. 0% increase is it. Big difference. My parents pay very close to R100 000 a year for my studies and accommodation. Would you say that's freeloading?

Find out for yourself. As I said. Get up to speed!

When has this random poster been proven wrong? And I for one that can say the media has been talking bull a number of times. How do you know they've been on the money if you're not here. Do yourself a favour and actually go to a protest if you want to see what's going on.

Yes. I paid for my own studies.

You called the protests peaceful, yet they damaged buildings, assaulted members of the public, overturned a vehicle, blocked public roads, threatened journalists, etc etc etc.. Need I go on?

As for me going to one of these protests, I have more productive things to do than go see a bunch of kids protesting and such...
