They certainly got their share of free advertising in this though.

[*]Salmon is gray, not orange, they feed it with color to make their meat look like that.
.

Nein. Natural salmon is perfectly pink and often even darker leaning to red.

It’s the farmed stuff that is grey due to the dietary differences.

Went specially to Woolworths to try and get these today but no such luck.

Clearly the free marketing has everyone trying it out.

Is it even possible to buy wild salmon anywhere in South Africa? As far as I can see, we only get farmed salmon (unless someone happens to know a really good fishmonger).

I actually saw these in WW today. Was only one pack of each left. Guess some brave people bought it

Only the Norwegian imports I think.

Fish fingers in an artificial sleeve, or did they use real fish gut?

Or is the sausage sleeve made from sustainably sourced feral pigs?

Fish sausage is good, at least the ones made by our local fish shop in Langebaan. I have not tasted WW's attempt yet, but can't imagine why it would not be good. We are heavy and somewhat adventurous fish eaters in general though. Often kippers, haddock, angel and snoek on the menu, and if and when we get herring, fresh hake or cob, and not so often stumpnose etc. Special treats would be raw fresh tuna and salmon.
