You can get free socks proxy servers, like the one I have for free on my site for my customers. they will help to some extent on shaped adsl accounts.

They should make your gaming experience for WoW similar between shaped and unshaped. (maybe a little higher ping)

Has digiplanet extended the pre-order *AGAIN*.. I wish someone would stop extending the delivery date and sell the game. (a year of extending delivery dates is getting a bit much now)

One day I hopefully can close up shop and have only one job again.

Getting Euro WOW to Play on US servers

hi there,

have bought an Euro version of WOW, however, all my mates etc are playing on US servers. Is there any way I can get my version to work with US servers? If I got an US authencation key, would my Euro version work in US? Any suggestions most helpful

I do believe if you get a US account, there is a file to edit and you can play on the US servers. I think if u google it you can find out how, or maybe somehere has done it.

I know ppl that have gone US -> EU using same version.
 
EU and US Wow

There is a file called "realmlist.wtf" in the WoW root directory. Open it in notepad, and the changes required to switch from US to EU is obvious.

That said:
1. you need a seperate cd key to create accounts on EU and US. so you have to buy both.

2. US and EU are on different patch schedules. If you have live accounts on both realms, then it is best to maintain two copies of WoW so that if/when they patch up to different versions, you can still play on both.

That said, installing the US WoW off of CDs, then connecting to EU and patching up to the latest version does work. You just need to get(buy) an EU cdkey to create your EU account

If you want a US version of WoW, squish102 is your man.

If however you prefer the EU servers, for timezone reasons, you have the same problem I have. :\
 
New patch is in.. and all I can say is WOW.. I was downloading at 54kbps and uploading at 49 kbps on the blizz patcher. If only everything worked like that with my 512 adsl

New quests for the Feast of Winter Veil have been added! See your Smokywood Pastures customer service representative in Ironforge and Orgrimmar for more details!
The level of many of last year's Feast of Winter Veil quests have been adjusted so that reputation rewards are available in their full amount for players of all levels able to do them.
Fixed a bug with both versions of the quest "A Smokywood Pastures' Thank You!" that was sending mail out immediately rather than on the intended delay.
In a startling discovery, Mistletoe sold on last year's vendors is now named "Fake Mistletoe". A Smokywood Pastures spokesman was quoted as saying, "Sorry, no refunds."
Some of the Southsea Dock Workers that were working under the boat should now be much more accessible to players.
Andre Firebeard no longer has a chance of dropping a Wastewander Water Pouch.
All OOX Distress Beacons are now multi-drop; everyone in a group should be able to receive one if it drops.
Fixed a bug with Oglethorpe Obnoticus' gossip where he was being much more familiar with strangers than he should have been.

I have it still for sale, check my sig below for website address. At the same time, I am not sure if I have put the FAQ up of the questions I get asked most often.

So here it is:

1). Find a guild of SA's to make your gaming experience much better. Try http://www.flameofanduril.com/ for 250+ south africans with a ventrilo voice server etc.

2). First month is free with purchase of US game


3). After that you can use your SA mastercard (I heard visa works too) to pay $15/month online on blizzards website.


4). If you do not have a credit card, you can buy game time, but it is a little more expensive, from a few people. (Including me)


5). You also get a 10 day guest account cd key to give your friend. He can play for 10 days, and if he likes it, he can buy a game and punch in his cd key and continue playing.


6). Also some live ppl on irc. snow.shadowfire.org #wow channel (including me) who can help


7). It is playable on isdn/adsl, even 56k I heard. I dont have any so don\'t hold me too that.


8). Don\'t forget, those buying the game from me get a free socks server account to help those on shaped adsl. It really makes it playable all hours of the day.

9. A US account can not play on EU servers. There is not really much difference between ping times, and I believe more south african ppl are on US server.

10.) Make sure you shower, and brush your teeth before starting... it will be awhile until you do it again.
 
Oh I forgot to mention, I have a few 10 day guest passes from ppl that have gratiously donated them back to the SA community. So if u want one please email me on [email protected]. (Please have your own credit card to create the account - it does not get charged)

Maybe, just maybe after selling the game for over a year, I should actually use one of those 10 day guest passes for myself to see what the game is all about !
 
Looks like the SA release date of WoW (no not South African servers) has been extended again. BT games now says expected release date is 27 January 2006 (was 9 December previously)
 
squish102...i just ordered the game from ur site and deposited the bucks into ur account...however i still need the software to install. On www.wordlofwarcraft.co.za u have a link to download the iso's...are those still available? of where can i get the installation cds from?

yeah...bt games now says in 27 jan...i cant w8 that long...wife going away for a week and need to get as much wow in before she gets back hehehe
