World War 3 begins

Which side will our(RSA) troops have to support?
China or the US coalition?

Why do I foresee us Sous Aficans fighting alongside Cubans and Venezuelans and Chinese and N. Koreans against UK and French and US troops all over the Asian theater?

If worse comes to worse.........

Well we're already taking them on in the CAR ... :/

I thought China backed NK...? I hope I'm wrong?

If China backs NK, and the USA backs SK ... well that sounds like a fairly global conflict.

China has been unhappy with North Korea for a while now. Their relationship is very very strained.

From the article in the OP:
China has also been conducting live-firing naval exercises in the Yellow Sea, scheduled to end on Monday. The move is widely viewed as open support for North Korea, which continues to show extreme opposition to the US-South Korean military drills that are to last until May.

The yellow sea?

I wonder if the South Korean army has been recruiting Starcraft players ... Those northerners don't know what hornet's nest they're poking!

The move by China is most likely a response to the US presence, it probably also serves in securing the border and also a pre-mobilisation in case Japan sneaks in for the islands under the cover of the Korean war continuing.

At the risk of going widely off topic. Imagine a world where global Real Time footage can be streamed to command console. Where you have many RTS players controlling the movements of the armies. Not direct control of course. But when they click a command in, sort of a waypoint marker can appear in the HUD/Glasses of the troops on the ground.

That would be a wicked war. I just wonder whether the guys on the ground would realise when they are being used as zerg fodder to distract from the siege tanks deploying.... wait.... what.

SK would rule the world in a matter of days.

Not quite the point. As far as a global conflict goes it is up there. You don't need massive death rates for somewhere to be strategic.

Fair enough. I was looking at it from a global perspective where many interests were at play. The Napoleonic Wars were generally due to European interests, be it Continental or for trade/colonial rights elsewhere. Even the current global war on terror is beyond the scope of the US/Western nations, (India, China, Russia and African states all have problems with it) hence I believe that is a very active World War as many interests are at stake.

If China opposes the US I hope they stop all imports from China to US. That will hurt their economy significantly. Give it back to the japs.

Highly improbable. China has to be fskung retarded to do this. I wouldn't be surprised if China decides not to support NK when **** hits the fan. All China cares about is to secure its own CHINA/NK borders and keep potential NK refugees the **** out of China.

If I were in control of China then I would wait until North Korea attacks South Korea and as soon as that happens attack North Korea and expand my borders. Then China can say that they helped the rest of the world by helping against North Korea.

China is probably getting sick of all the nonsense bordering them. It will be a win-win situation for China. I'm not sure though what treaty China has with North Korea but isn't it something along the line that they will help defend North Korea if South Korea attacks? I doubt that China will want to fight in a war against the States. China is all about money and power these days. So even though I know very little about the situation, I can believe that China will take over North Korea in the event of war.

:) What do you guys think?
