WTF is with 10gb Prices!?

WTF With the huge gap between uncapped and capped prices? most of the big ISPs offer uncapped for under R200 yet when you look at 5-10gb INT packages they work out out to much more!
cheapest I see is 5gb for R95 to R190 for 10gb

This is bloody ridicules!

ISPs do something about this!
 
capped is unsahped and runs at max speed if your line, where the uncapped will be shaped and for R200 its 384kb
 
what if I don't mind shaped 10gb for less?

Excuse me, am I missing something? How can you generalize that?

I am on a 10 GB plan thats costing me an arm and a leg, and yet it is shaped (as well as throttled during business hours- don't let them tell you otherwise) I'm on this ''smart'' package

Capped is not unshaped by default, only a selected few capped accounts are shaped, and they will be clearly marked as unshaped.

LOL, this forum has had many complaints about this "premium" isp. The ISP market isn't a monopoly, if you are unhappy change your ISP.

As was already said. That R200 is for a 384 line. You should maybe look at cybersmart. They have packages based on line speed.

Most ISPs unshape their capped packages. Afrihost probably has the best capped packages out at the moment.

Can I ask why aren't you on uncapped?
 
I pay R180 for 20GB per month. On my 6Mbps line (yes, it is correct) I hardly ever have speed issues, even when using XBox Live.
 
The OP has a valid point though. If MWeb can give me uncapped 4Mbps for R539 pm, why can't they or any other ISP give me 50GB pm for say R200?
 
Truly unshaped bandwidth at affordable rates - https://www.trltech.co.za/whmcs/cart.php?gid=15 - tested it, VoIP, streaming, remote desktop, etc. all works as it should.

1GB to 5GB = R17 per GB
10GB to 30GB = R15 per GB
50GB or more = R9.50 per GB

I am utilising it, as there is no transit via the issue prone IS network (Afrihost) and "somehow" it outperforms MWEB / WebAfrica's unshaped bandwidth and it offers low local latencies (CTN).

I don't think they offer prepaid at all though, it's all a month to month debit order with 1 months notice for cancellation best to my knowledge. Others that use them are:

its still not inline with uncapped, why not a shaped 10gb package for under R100pm?

its too expensive
