Why are you guys blaming SS for this?? The local international matches they get the feed from SABC. They use their owm commentators but SABC is in charge of the cameras.

Are you sure about that?.. then why was the SS feed live, and the SABC feed delayed by about an hour?

I query that, since there was a fair chunk of onscreen display that was all messed up last night, that was distinctive SS display stuff....

and they possibly get the feed from the SABC cameras, and then choose which angle to use.

Because even thought they have the rights they chose to show what they consider more important first and then the cricket. While SS has enough plans to show live events on time.

The local rights are held by SABC so its their cameras and their feed. SS does not have their own fan and director at the ground to pick which angles to use. Just like the international channels they get the feed but use their own commentators.

The IPL will be ss's cameraman and their angles since they have the rights to that. I didn't see this angle being used in any of the local pro 20 games or 45 over games that ss showed so I doubt they would starting using it for the international 20-20.

Ok, well I'll concede that point... SABC are useless.... more so than SS who are also pretty useless when we ask for WS broadcasts.

The "official" post-match interviews and announcing man of match etc. was done by the SABC. SS had their own about 5 mins later.

Look i do not give a F honestly who it is, i pay for dstv and the cricket was on SS, so supersport best sort this issue out as i do not watch sabc and only have dstv because of SS. I have never seen this stupid ass angle in all my days of watching cricket for obvious reasons.

Supersport has some of the best coverage of sports in the world and they should try and keep it up.

Was it exactly square on? I remember it being a backward point/gully position. I had had some whiskey...

square means perpendicular to the crease, gully is next to 3rd slip, right in front of third man.
Square is on the off side of the batsman and square leg on the leg side :p

At first I hated it, but it does allow you to appreciate the actual speed the game is played at.
