X box 360 or PS2

Once you have played Dead or Alive 4 on the Xbox MK will look and play terribly.

Driving games, the Xbox has some fantastic driving games. You seem to have had your mind made up though before you started this thread so why did you start it?

You have been told by 90% of the people that you will be wasting your money and the PS2 is now completely outdated yet you are still going to go out and buy one? Pointless
 
I just wanted to know your thoughts on the tv. I have been told by about 4 or 5 other people now that the graphics for the X Box is terrible on the ordinary tv. Is it worth spending R3500 when i have been told by a few good friends that the X Box graphics are terrible on an ordinary tv? Is there anyways that I can check it ou on an ordinary tv before buying it.
 
Saffer, if xbox360 gfx are "terrible" on a normal TV, then PS2 graphics are beyond the description of hideousness. 360 looks 76347532765453432 times better on a normal tv than a ps2 does.
 
why don't you hire an xbox360/ps2 or borrow from a friend, and see for yourself?
Much more worth it, than being disappointed after you've bought it...

I was playing mine on a standard Tube TV and the gfx are a million times better than a PS2 on a 42" Plasma or even a normal TV...

Your friends are idiots or lying :eek:

To think that M$ would be stupid enough to release a console that only looks good on 5% of people's tv's is idiotic.

You can have a 100% money back guarantee that the Xbox 360 does not look cr@p on a standard tv.
 
Please dont call my friends idiots. I have hired a ps2 quite a few times and for me the graphics are good. The are no x box's to hire around here. See i work in a video store and my bosses wont buy a X box console to hire out as they are too expensive. There is no where around here to hire one out.

Looks brilliant on an 'ordinary' tv. Though the definition of ordinary is alos very wide. Plug it into a cheap 51cm ten year old tube it would look bad - the same way a PS2 or any other piece of equipment would look bad on.

Plug it into a newer flat 74cm tv, which if your lucky has component inputs even, and it will look better than anything else youve plugged into the 'ordinary' tv.

Bottom line, in no case would it look worse than a PS2 would, and in most cases it would look way better.

I think these people have no idea what they are talking about. If these people actually own an xbox (youd assume they get their insights from experience) you could just borrow it and plug it into your TV. And in this case, if their so disgusted with the image quality maybe buy theirs cheap 2nd hand. Then you take the bad image off their hands and pay less for an xbox yourself, everyone happy :)
 
They dont own one, they just played on their friend's one. Now just say I was to buy one, i would want 2 controls with the console and a game or 2. A how much is it without the hard drive and B how much is it with the hard drive?

It is more expensive than a PS2 because it is much better. You get what you pay for.

Okay so if i bought the core version plus a control plus say a game of R300 would cost me in total R3288. Now what do i get with the silver membership to live? What is it?

Live! is huge.

Basically with a gold membership you can play online games against other people.
Silver membership allows you to play arcade games and download demos as well as send messages to your mates.

Every single Xbox 360 game is Live! aware. Example: In Dead or Alive 4 when you play survival. Once you lose your score is checked against everyone in the world and you are shown your rankings. That takes Silver.

To play Dead Or Alive against some other friends in SA would take a Gold membership which is about R600 p/a. It's not required but terribly addictive once you start :)
 
I definitely think the PSTwo is hugely overpriced. If it had a real budget price it would still be viable for many people, with the huge library of relatively cheap games to go along with it.

If you're going to play fighting and driving games, essentially games you can play endlessly, then you might as well get an XBox 360 and a couple of games.
 
I have been thinking. I may as well go for the X Box then. I just wish i had the money now to buy it. I can buy the hard drive for it at a later stage cant I?

If you can get the premium one, they are just better. You don't need to worry about memory cards or hdd's then. You also get wireless controllers which can't be beaten.

you can buy a wireless controller for the Core model though.
