Have you tried the latest nightly build of VLC?

Remove all your previous version. Make sure they are uninstalled from Program Files and Program Files (x86).

Then install the nightly.

If your vlc version work in my program, it is not vlc version issue.
Just make sure rtmpgui points to the same location ;
In rtmpgui, go to File --> Options --> make sure "player" points to same vlc version you use in my program

Also remember that all channels in rtmpgui does not work ALL THE TIME.

Don't you experience buffering on the HD streams? I tried and while it starts playing, the stream needs buffering every 2-3 minutes so it doesn't really keep up. Highly annoying.

Tried 2 different ISP accounts. Thus far I can't really figure out where the problem is. Unless my problem really just is the 4mbit line, can't get higher yet cause my DSLAM is on ATM uplink instead of Metro-E.

Damn I don't have either. I understand that the login is the same as the ssport login and therefore thought that if it works for the one it should also work for the other. Thanks in anyway mate!
 
With the ondemand website its not just the URLs that are encrypted, they used DRM on the streams as well, so VLC won't be able to play it. It would probably be easier to dump the .swf and rewrite the code for that player to do what you want it to be able to do.

That is what I understand as well, but earlier in this thread there was something that could play the local on demand content - it seems only movies etc was drm protected? Or is everything protected?

That changed to every stream being DRM'd since the plugin came out.

yes i did experience buffering every now and then. its not really the 4meg line, but the problem is vlc. it can't handle the high definition hd bandwith. go to the vlc forums where you can tweek it abit to make it more playable. xbmc does not have those buffering problems. if we can maybe incorporate enerdude's links to xbmc then it will solve our buffering issues.
 
I can view the rtmpGUI+ streams in XBMC, the plugin works, so I viewed that Sky Sport 1 HD channel, but all the HD channels buffer most of the time sadly, for me at least, on both Web Africa and FNB-Connect. Should probably test another ISP account as well though I suspect the same will happen with that.

rtmpgui is definitely pointing to the same vlc location, but still no luck ... double-clicking on ANY channel just flashes "loading: {*channel name*}" at the bottom left for 2 sec, but it fails to launch vlc. :(

The XBMC plugin works, but it does not have all the channels from rtmpgui. :erm:

Press Ctrl-A in program to check your version. Latest is 0.0.16.0

Also try to run the command manually in a cmd window:

Go to File --> Show commands in rtmpgui.

It will then show the rtmpdump command line instead of program guide. (btw, make sure rtmpdump.exe is located in same directory as rtmpgui.exe)
You can then copy and paste the command to run it manually in a cmd window
