Xbox 360 to get Blu-ray?

Do you even read the posts before you reply? Where did I mention anything in my previous post about PS3 sales? I said the Arcade is selling well, cause not everyone wants the extras.

Something usefull like trolling Xbox threads in forums? Why do you always post in Xbox threads if you're clearly a PS3 fanboy?

I hardly ever posts in Xbox threads. This thread is under "Gaming Consoles: Microsoft XBox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii > Xbox 360 to get Blu-ray?" and specific about the BluRay which interests me, This is a public forum and may post as and where I please, If I get attacked for information I post I will respond in kind.

Now I must have missed that relevance to that point on sales totally, lets see what garbage you posted and how that relates to sales;

The only idiots who got excited by this was PS3 owners it seems. Another excuse to justify their BR drive. ;)

lol, classic, I've been thinking the same thing. For someone who's not even a gamer, he has a awful lot to say about gaming consoles.
And why do Ps3 owners keep saying they didn't have to pay extra for BR and wifi? Obviously they paid for it, it's why the PS3 are so expensive.

From what I've seen, the Xbox actually scores more? Some examples maybe?

Why is it suddenly required? The article mentions it's a addon for watching HD movies. Nowhere have they ever mentioned anything about BR games. [DID I say THAT?]

I know it's difficult for PS3 owners to understand, but it's an addon. You can buy it if you want, but you don't need it to play games. Same as the wifi dongle every PS3 owner seems to be going on about?

Now coming back to sales, If everyone believed the BR is not required and not wanted, how come they sold the same total of PS3's as Xboxes then and now even more, outselling the Xbox. Hmmm kiddo?

Oh I forgot, some do not know that you need the BR to play Sony games as they come printed and sold on BR disks. Now because we use the included BR and WiFi effectively for media centre capabilities, which the PS3 does very well, as an extra benefit some kids wet their pants and grunts is pain when we discuss it and relate to it as free added value that make the PS3 more value for the same money. So the fact that the current sales figures tells a different story about the expense and the need/requirements of BluRay and the extras make you believe its not required for gaming. May be not on the Xbox sure, thats why the Xbox is losing some ground. Obviously you do not know the storage requirements for the newer and future gaming titles to be released.

Shame kiddo in all those post you made you said nothing but attacked me.

The same way Dolby attacked me about the sound format for simply making a single line analogy to someone who claimed he watched a HD movie on a Xbox, which was a internet rip, he must have though and believed that was real HD on his Xbox, no wonder he was so dissapointed.

I differed as I was relating stereo (two speaker) sound with surround sound and compared it with my PS3 capabilities in comparison.

As for the 7.1 channel titles

Read this, just change the filter to the audio 7.1 and/or codec you want
The list is not comprehensive and complete as there is a few more releases that came out.

Then to show how PS3 (old) do HD DTS master 8 channel LPCM sound.

Yes you did.

It's just so funny how many Xbots claimed it would never be required and now it seems to be happening!

Now coming back to sales, If everyone believed the BR is not required and not wanted, how come they sold the same total of PS3's as Xboxes then and now even more, outselling the Xbox. Hmmm kiddo?

So you're saying the PS3 is selling well because of the BR drive? Nothing to do with gaming maybe?

Well kiddo, maybe if I explain it to you like a kid then. Millions of people bought (and are still buying) Xbox's. None of them have BR's. We all know that, yet people are still buying it. That tells me people don't want it, otherwise they would all be buying PS3's or BR players don't you think? And they're managing to play games on it, watch movies etc, so it's obviously also not required. Difficult to understand?

Shame kiddo in all those post you made you said nothing but attacked me.

The reason why people here and in other threads are attacking you, is because you don't read what other people are saying. You just keep hammering on the same things, if it's on topic or not.

Yes you did..

Read that quote you made in contect and show me where I stated that "the BlyRay player is required for playing games on the Xbox"?

I said they (Xbots) always claimed BluRay (for media?) is not required, yet the PS3 is doing excelent only and exclusivly due to the incorporated BluRay player which give rise to more/other benefits too.

So you're saying the PS3 is selling well because of the BR drive? Nothing to do with gaming maybe?

Yes gaming amongs all the advantages too, but then there is the additional benefits as a fairly good and cost effective BluRay player (Read some threads on this forum) and some very good sound and media center capabilities.

Not even Killzone had such a great spike in hardware sales volumes as was expected. Wonder why?

When the price was dropped many/most rushed to buy the PS3 vanilla and did not wait for the packaged SKU's that came later and if you do yourself a flavour check if the exact same spikes/trend exist in the games titles, that means that many saw the PS3 as more value than just a gaming console.

So yeah both reasons, therefore the good sales performance since the price drop. As said before the price drop the PS3 held its own even when the Xbox price were dropped.

Forgot about this one, lol. You seem to be forgetting what you post here?

Fact is for all that extra "requirements" you need to pay extra, ME not!

So which is it? Do you pay for the extras in the PS3 like in your one statement, or don't you, like in your second? ;)

Millions also buy the PS3 many more than buying the Xbox currently, That tells me people want it specially those that already have a HD TV/monitor. Many, as we see on even this SA MyBB site, bought it exlusively for the BluRay player and media capabilities for watching BluRay titles. Many use it for streaming HD videos from their PC's with 1080p (native) and 5.1-7.1 sound systems. Not everyone can afford to buy (and compare) R100K HT systems, thus the PS3 is a good alternative as a main component of a entry HT system. So yeah I understand that some is able to watch HD ripped movies on their Xbox systems (Where this discussion started) and claim thats the same as doing it with a PS3, obviously they never experienced or are not used to something better.

So maybe not required (as usefull argument) for Xbox ownwers but there are many that strives for more and better quality technology offering more. It's not just all about gaming in life, there is more to it, Ask Sony they Know.:D

Hell I remember when people slated the need for cellphones to have camera's and play/act as MP3 players. Now everyone wants it!:p

What you on about Kiddo, For the basically same money as for the Xbox you get all that extra's so Yeah you pay for it (Sony makes a loss) but the Xbox does not have it, news is the Xbox will have to drop $50 to make any sense or give all extras you need to pay for extra for free?

As I said, even at the previous high price for the PS3 the value for money was worth it, now at the reduced price point, that forced Microsoft to reduce their price and drop one SKU, its even more value for money. Thus make a list on pice of paper and cost the Xbox cost of ownership to a Ps3 cost of ownership to play games and be used as a decent media centre, which is what this thread topic is all about.

Depends what you compare. Arcade is almost R2000 cheaper. For a GAMING console, you don't need the extas.

so Yeah you pay for it (Sony makes a loss)

What if you don't want it? Oh wait, you don't have a choice... ;)

but the Xbox does not have it

Good thing they don't charge us for it either.

No it wasn't.

Ok. My Xbox 360 - R1800

I can play all the Xbox games on it and watch dvd's. Not that I use it for movies, since I have a HTPC.

If I buy a PS3 - R4000?

I'll be able to play all PS3 games. Will be able to watch BR, but since none of the video shops around here have more than 10 BR movies, the novelty will wear of soon.

Nah, it's ok, I'll stick with the Xbox. :)

Sure do that and and move on, let the grownup's compare apples with apples here, those that stives for more in life than simple gaming. You can always considerer the PS2 which is currently on par with the Arcade. Its cheaper, offer online I think, offer more games and really suit your style, arguments and common sense.

I would hate to see your HTPC spec's, can prolly be used a ripped video HD device too? Can it do BluRay, ah my bad, useless question you already allured to the fact of the novelty that worn off before it got going. Glad you are at least browsing the BluRay shelf to know exactly how many titles there are on the shelf, is that when you feel sad and left out? Also maybe nothing to do with cost of BluRay disk and ease of copying them (copyright/DRM), Hmmm.

I was not disappointed, and it was real HD, at 1920x1080p, I honestly dont care about your 7.1 sound, im glad it makes you think it makes your e-penis bigger, but no one cares, and honestly whenever you mention it you end up looking like a moron, because someone who actually knows what they are talking about, Dolby, puts you in your place. And for someone that doesnt play games, and hardly uses their console, they have a lot to say about it, if you dont use it, dont comment, because you will look like an idiot.

Ah my Favorite PS3 fanboi fan again.

Yeah, sure, I like your new idol in the name of Dolby.. he does not own a PS3 and do not know what it can or cannot do. I do use my console a lot and effectively so I also know what I got, my kids use it all the time for gaming when I am not using it.
I also run some of those rips, What was the file size, can you tells us, also at what bitrate did it play/stream. Just asking as when I stream the rips the good ones stream above 25MBPS and stutters over wireless and the bad ones where I can clearly see the details begin lacking or the colours are bad/wrong streams at from below 10 MBPS no problem over wireless. When I play them in PowerDVD Ultra on the PC the same difference is evident, the good ones show high bitrate (13GB rips) and the bad ones low Bitrate(3-5GB) HD BluRay rips. So yeah believe whatever you want, I understand as when you have not experienced anything better then you do not know any better and thus there is no motivation for strive for anything beter. (Ask Dolby about his 100HZ LCD Tv experience as prime example) :D

Talking about e-penis, there is one thing I also know for sure .... never mind :D

What the HELL did that post have to do with ANYTHING thats being discussed IAP?

you just randomly seem to spew forth nonsense.. I think you live in the world of BS baffles brains.... or at least you seem to think it does.

I differed as I was relating stereo (two speaker) sound with surround sound and compared it with my PS3 capabilities in comparison.

Great! So we both agree that you cannot hear a difference with DTS 5.1 and DTS Master 5.1? And if you can with your super hearing, it's extremly subtle? I'm glad we're on the same page - eventually.

Again, exactly what I said. Unfiltered I get almost 2000 results. Put a filter on and that drops to under 10% of BR titles that actually have 7.1 sound. So which of these do you watch regularly? I often see you shove the 7.1 HD codecs in people faces ...

Then to show how PS3 (old) do HD DTS master 8 channel LPCM sound.

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3411

I know this works, thank you. Obviously to use the feature, it would be great to have a few more than 10% of titles using 8 channels ....

he does not own a PS3 and do not know what it can or cannot do

I had one for 8 months ; I knew what it could do. It was hardly used though. And remember I have my own decent audio streamer and video streamer. I had it connected via ethernet to my media machine - so had no use for wireless or 95% of the features.

I understand as when you have not experienced anything better then you do not know any better and thus there is no motivation for strive for anything beter.

Ah - very nasty ... and you're (once again) assuming you know the other members. You know the people here *try* not to attack you personally, but you do make it hard.

Anyway - the same can be said for you ... have you ever experienced real sound? I don't mean Sony junk - real sound is in a league of it's own.

I can almost guarantee you I'll put a DTS 5.1 on my Elac and 7 year Onkyo system - and get better sound that you using your DTS Master 5.1, Blu Ray and latest Sony system. You'll realise it's not about number of channels or specs, but about the actual quality of the processing and speakers too.

And - you've mentioned about 10x that 'Dolby couldn't get his PS3 to work' ... wtf does that mean anyway? What did I do or not do?

I had the picture and sound - is there a special setting to make it holographic? If so, then you're right in saying it didn't work ...

Another uneducated cum Xbox supporter playin MyBB troll today. Tell us where the PS3 is failing? Lets discuss that on topic. Apparently the Xbox BluRay play rumour is debunked, they just made some idiots very happy for a day.

BTW rather a 40 year old virgin than a 14 year old w@nker, enjoying it so much?

If I was a 14 y/o ****er, at least I get off on something that is suitable for my age. Not like you who gets off on making a black piece of plastic sound like porn. Maybe you should go have a "chat" with the wife. Or maybe she is also avoiding you?

I think you'll find his wifes initials are P.S.3. while his children are called Blu ray, 7.1, Sony, and the blacksheep of the family, Xbox :)
