You can't argue it both ways. This article was syndicated from The Times. My problem is with The Times' and other news outlet's reporting - which bears no relation to the readership of MyBroadband.
And anyway - you cannot use MyBroadband surveys as scientific fact. Sample sizes are too small, and the mechanism is biased to certain individuals e.g. if Firefox users were more likely to use RSS feeds than go to the main page because of the internal reader, and Firefox users were more likely to choose Wii because they don't accept things at face value they are also the people who will miss out on the survey. Meanwhile all the IE users vote because they have nothing else todo while the page loads. This is just an example though
There is a reason most scientific surveys include more than one question - it is to prevent these type of problems. The MyBB surveys are fun - but don't stake your life on it.
And frankly - this also points out what is wrong with the media. You have to have CONTEXT and you have to analyze the actual data. You can't be a monkey who just repeats things.
