Xbox 720 rumours rounded up

With Microsoft confirming a next generation Xbox is on the horizon through recent job postings, here is a list of the current rumours surrounding the next generation product.
 
ETA 2015? :/ Current 360's will be WAY out0dated by then, they have to bring something out to prevent the PS3 from dominating the market.
 
I hope it supports backwards compatibility and they don't stuff it up the way Sony did. I'd hate to lose my library of 40+ 360 games.
 
2015 is perfect.. next 4 years will be rise of the PC which is great because I just got my rig. Then when my PC starts falling to pieces in 4 years due to my ridiculous overclocks I can get an xbox 720 :p

Prevent PS3 from dominating the market? You do realise that the 360 has been outselling the PS3 for months?

gives them plenty of time to release really good Kinect games and establish it as a platform. If the current gen consoles can push out the kind of experience they currently do even after being based on 6 year old + hardware, the new gen should be amazing.

Sony doesn't have a product to compete with Kinect (and the Move doesn't count), so I'm guessing that MS is banking on that to carry it through until the replacement is ready.

Apart from 3D (which requires a 3D TV anyway) and Bluray, I don't see Sony offering anything more advanced in terms of gaming than it already does.

At least there are games for the move. Kinect on the other hand...
 
My god. A 2015 release and I've already canned the consoles to switch back to PC due to the ageing issue. (I'm sorry, but less-than 1080P gaming at the end of 2011 is starting to become an issue for me)
Why are they stating the inclusion of a controller in a way that makes you wonder if they considered not including it? Jees, that would be the end of gaming for me.

Sadly all this does is make me realize just how few games we're going to get on PC that actually pushes the boundaries... I hope I'm wrong.
 
You know, with the release of crysis 2, you can see there is still some life left in these little machines. However, the race is not going to be against fony, but with nintendo. I am looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table. I think it will really make MS and Fony pull up their socks. But as stated, the kinect will be the thing that carries the 360 till the release of the next gen.
 
Another thing to add, but MS are doing a gpu upgrade later this year on their consoles. So that could add a little more life for non kinect games. As someone stated on the mygaming forum, will I be able to replace my old gpu with the new one? Mmmmm Hope it adds some AA in there.
 
2015 seems right, Sony said same thing. Nintendo are on their own trip they'll probably have an entire new console come 2015.

MS will focus on Kinect and probably get it right by 2015, by when I expect the 720 to come with kinect built in. Sony are the ones playing catch up here, 3D is their trump card but it looks to be dying already.
 
I use my gaming rig [X58, i7 950, GTX460-OC] Hook it up to my 1080p TV.. Throw in a Xbox 360 Wireless control and I've got my console gaming.. needs a better gpu, but it does the job pretty well.. Cant wait to play through Crysis 2 SP again now with DX11.. just havn't had the time..

Got to agree, Im happy with my 360 but Gonna get Skrym on my PC and hook it up for 1080p (even willing to upgrade the mobo if I have to). I hope they extend the life to like 2014 (2015 a stretch) cos than I can still play games without tossing a lot of cash on my console.

IMO gaming is an expernsive hoppy but Dont mean I got to break the bank on it.
