Xbox One unveiled, next-gen game console from Microsoft

The design of the Xbox One reminded me of an Atari for some reason.

Unless they intentionally did the design so that it looks retro (Metro), they could have spend a little bit more time on it so that it looks next-gen, I think.

Jip this unveil was quite a letdown, was more like releasing a media centre than a gaming platform.

The bottom comment explains the look. It's meant to be part of your home theatre setup and not look out of place.

Well that's what they are going for. And looks great to be honest. Only we will suffer with region locking. Looks like vpn services will make a lot of money soon.

YOu do know they specifically said they would leave most of the gaming stuff till E3 right?

It hasn't really effected them much though ... ?

Unlike the Playstation decade old wireless system ...

Agreed. Not missed the lack of a bluray drive in my consoles. When I had PS3's, I never used the bluray functionality.

That said, I will probably get XBox One and PS4. Only way to cement your choice. Last round I went through 2 PS3's until I eventually settled on XBox 360. Got 4 in the house now.

Not getting a console again. Looks boring to me. Will rather upgrade my PC for BF4.

If it can do media on a network better than the current Xbox then I'm sold and it looks quite decent

Finally got a Blu-ray drive, only 6 years late.

In their defense Sony has done very little to take advantage of the Blue Ray. At best I use it to watch movies in the earlier days when the players were expensive. I actually prefer to play on my xbox than my ps3. Simple reason - the controllers.

Whatever, I want it. My current XBox was one of the best investments I've made.
Same here. Although with a library of 50+ games, I'm keen to see how they will handle backwards compatibility.
