Looking for a decent one, there seems to be may out there.

The ones I liked from my pc days were Star Wars pod racer and Need for speed 2 (NFS's after that I didn't like).

Don't like building, pimping and modding cars, just want a racing game where I can just race.
Don't want to have to think much while I'm playing.

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, got a regular 72cm crt TV, not the fancy HD TV's that the rest of u have

I'm willing to bet Grid and Forza are a not arcadey enough compared to Star Wars Pod Racer or NFS 2. I'd recommend the PGR series - very good for an "instant racing thrill", imho.

Arcade is what I'm after, and also not buying a racing wheel.

I see PGR 3 is at R269 at Take2
PGR 4 at R411
And Forza 2 is R209

Burnout Paradise looks like there's thinking and work involved.

U wont like forza cause its a hardcore sim (it has an arcade mode but it's still not arcadey enuf)

Pgr3 (buy it preplayed from bt games for R89) or 4 is the best option (grid is also an arcade racer but you can total your car which you probably wont like)

Tx guys, seems like PGR is the best for me.
When I get home from work, I don't need more complicated things to deal with. Just some fun.

I went and bought PGR 4 at CNA, tried to load it and when I try to start a game it says "disk read error, use a damp cloth.." ffs!

How old is your console? A disc cleaner might be a good temporary fix.

If it starts doing it more regularly then your laser is packing up.

Just a heads up!

Im just joking :) I have neither sadly :(
Anyways you go the game running yet?

Nope, did the wiping thing with lens cleaner, still just gets to do loading screen
and squeeks.

Will return it tmrw.
Was hoping to play a new game this weekend, raining in Cape Town the whole frikkin week.
Half life starting to bore me.

That must suck! I bet you were all excited too! haha.. oh well..

You should return your xbox to the retailer you bought it from, if your console is less than a year old. The warranty covers all problems with the console. Mine started to do exactly the same after about 9 months. At around 11 months old I returned it to L&L. They swopped the console out for a new one and let me keep my HDD! I had one of the "older" consoles, but they swopped it for the newer one with the HDMI port and BenQ drive. Since then, no more disc-reading troubles! I could play Forza again!!!

I got mine a month ago.

Gave PGR 4 back to CNA this morning, and got my money back with no hassles.
The DVD case was opened, they store their disks in a pouch, not on the shelf. So probably how it was damaged.

I've got Orange box and Tiberian Sun, they both work fine.
