I did a total clean of my XB360 in 2021, and also changed the thermal paste which was like chalk. It was fun and therapeutic. So yeah, do it

Just upgrade.
 
Used xCloud a few times. This is my experience in UK:

Pros:
  • Nice being able to jump straight into a game without downloading.
  • Progress and saves all synced so you can continue local later on.
  • Input lag was surprisingly minimal to unnoticeable, and that was when I was playing Forza Horizon which is a fast paced game.
  • Framerate was mostly smooth and seemed to hit the max 60FPS for the most part.

Cons:
  • Resolution is max 1080p, but definitely drops lower at times.
  • No HDR. I also feel the steaming makes the colours look even more washed out and not as vibrant.
  • There was occasions when the FPS dropped off and was likely running at 30FPS.
  • Every now and again, there was a 10 to 20 minute wait before you can start playing on your virtual Xbox.

Overall experience was good, but it important to note I was playing over fibre and console was hardwired into network. With the 1080p resolution, it's definitely more geared for mobile gaming, but chances are the input lag when playing over 4G/5G is going to be the biggest issue.

I still reckon the Asus Ally is the way to go for proper mobile "on the go" gaming.
 
It looks like the end of my 3y gamepass is fast approaching. I just checked now and the last day is 14 Feb. Big oof.

I'm on the fence about buying another two years in one go, assuming it still works.

Lately the games that have hit gamepass haven't really been my thing. The last game I played from start to end on gamepass was starfield.

I don't really want to pay upfront and then have a lot of dry months in between again, so I might resub when I see something I want to jam.

Had a really good run for the most part. My Xbox really gave its all these past 3 years, and I certainly got my moneys worth from gamepass.

The Gold to GP trick is a bit watered down now. I think if you buy three years of gold it converts to two years of UGP.

Nope, those are 3.7v, the entire battery pack for the controller would be 3v.
