Xbox Series X / S

Those timelines worked because games were being released more frequently. Dev cycles increased exponentially in this gen. We now wait far longer for one new game, which doesn't even amaze you like games on previous gen did. I mean we got entire Mass Effect and Uncharted trilogies in a single gen, and those were (and still are) blockbuster quality.

And the reason we haven't been wow'ed is because they're still wasting their time developing on previous gen (5 years later) instead of giving current gen more focus. Which makes it pointless to upgrade early when the new consoles come around, if they're just going to waste our money and do the same thing.

And to rub salt in it, Sony then gives us a mid-gen upgrade when we haven't even seen the full potential (from a games perspective) of the launch consoles. Nobody cares about some stupid extra fidelity that you need to zoom in to notice, we just want good quality games being released more frequently again...
This was amazing graphics and probably took 1000 of my 20c coins.

And I still play it every few years.

I'm busy replaying Pillars of Eternity and then want to play Pillars 2 before I play Avowed. Seeing that Avowed isn't that great makes me wonder if I should maybe only play Pillars 2 next year. It's such a big time investment.

Yep same here loaded up, spoke to first dude and was Nah I'm out.

Its not a crap game, once you get over the dated feel of it.

Also once I switched to the third-person view, it seemed a lot better. It reminded me a lot of Kingdoms of Amalur. If this game had come out in 2010, it would have fit right in. Now, it feels and plays like an Indie. It's OK for a free game on GP, but it's sure as hell not worth the $70 if you don't have GP.

Honestly, my series X hasn't gotten much love since I finished Cyberpunk on it, occasionally will play some NMS on it, but this generation has really been so eh. Both consoles really really dropped the ball, I mean when an Rog Ally is almost on par with a Series S for gaming and it's handheld.

720p ≠ 1440p

Targeting half the res and upscaling that does not make the system similar/on par. That said, I doubt its the hardware that's an issue this gen, more like Dev's not knowing how to use it.

Back then, the gameplay was key and visuals were secondary. Now its feels like they focus on looks instead of story, and gameplay is an afterthought. Games are no fun when a static pic looks like a photo and the player input take seconds to register or the world is static.

See this pic is causing a stir on the socials (more with ponies no surprises there.... Exclusivity blah blah blah, which is dying anyway, guess PC still qualifies as exclusive apparently, anyhoo).

To the right next to the GamePass tab.

This rumour has been around a awhile so no surprises really. PC gaming is is growing fast and the biggest at the moment so why not bring it to the couch and tap into the console peasants ?(yes first steam console I know you failed but maybe the world wasn't ready at the time, also has the series x/so would've though next gen )

True but I'm going to be honest there no way I'm sitting in front of 24 inch, 5500 refresh rate , in a gaming chair, by some desk.

Love my couch to much and that's my preference, NUC form PCs look promising but they so expensive as is a proper PC build.

I got a notification this morning that my game pass sub is running out next week. Can't believe it's been 3 years already.

Does the prepaid to sub conversion still work or should i just switch to monthly?

You don't have to on a PC

Switch to monthly and it's R199 a month now

I see the light now, found the mini PC's thread.

Please forgive me

If I do go this route, How will I ever live with out Quick Resume in my life
That is the real good thing about the Xbox, PC doesn't have that :)

Didn't realise my sub expired. But I found the cheapest way to get GPU.

Requires VPN.

  1. Register and get 3 x 12 months Core from CJS-CDkeys. Yes they're legit. The India code was cheapest for me, so I got that. Worked out to ~R490 each.
  2. I used Paypal to check out just to be safe.
  3. After you buy it, go to the Autokey section on their site to get the codes.
  4. Switch on your VPN on your PC/phone and select India (or whichever country you chose)
  5. Go to redeem.microsoft.com and enter your 3 codes to redeem them.
  6. The usual process from here on your Xbox. Sign up for one month GPU and it converts at 2:1.
The important part is to redeem it on Microsoft's site via VPN for the country you bought the code for. Everything else stays the same.

R1,500 + R199 to upgrade for 19 months GPU...
Can someone please confirm if this still works, and any recommendation for a free VPN that works with this?
