Hi guys, weird issue and not sure hiw to fix it. Was watching a 4k movie (external drive) and after "rewinding" the movie the image started displaying in blocks and weird colours. Even now on netflix, the 4k content comes up in these weird blocks and colours. I have restarted the console, adjusted settings but not getting it to work. Any idea?

Not the same problem but my TV went blank on 4K playback.
I had to set my TV to PC/Game mode in order to fix it, maybe try that.

I have not heard any noises from my Series X, the box is dead quiet.

I should also finish up Destroy all Humans tonight, that was a fun game.

Resolved my issue, after watching an LTT video about the diff between windows shutdown and restart, i restarted my xbox and it worked

Aaah the old "suspend/hibernate" vs proper power cycle problem.

I had a USB drive that used external power and gave me crap when the system suspended but worked fine after proper restart.

Since fixed as I swapped it to a USB that powers via USB cable.

Any recommendations on battery pack/charger? The whole AA battery thing is pretty a strange decision

I opted for the R500 play and charge kit, but most would recommend rechargeable batteries.

0 Complaints from my side esp seeing that the kit comes with a bloody long USB C cable that still allow me to play while charging.

Edit: Also as someone that recently had to change his PS3 batteries I like Microsoft's option as opening up em controllers can be a nightmare once a spring pop's out of place.

If you go for rechargeable AA batteries, can you just charge them in the controller via the USB-C port? (I already have my switch setup to charge it’s controller via USB-C)

Don't know/think it charge normal batteries via the USB-C as the Play and charge kit that does use it has other pin-outs inside the casing. (They dont use AA battery connections)

Edit: If I understand this correct they can charge normal AA rechargeable batteries?

How do you charge the Xbox Series X or S controller? The Xbox Series X and S controller is powered by 2 normal AA batteries. However, the controller can also be charged with rechargeable batteries, rechargeable 3rd party battery packs, the official Xbox USB-C play and charge kit, and controller charging docks that come with smaller battery packs. The controller can also be plugged directly into the Xbox Series X and S console using a USB-C to USB-A cable for it to be powered without batteries. Some Xbox One controller accessories will not work with the Xbox Series X controller because the new controller uses USB-C instead of a Micro USB port and because of a change in shape to the back panel.

I used to use rechargeable batteries with my 360, worked fine, then for the One I got the MS rechargeables and for my other 2 controllers those ones that you can do. For the Series X I've gone back to rechargeables for my controllers. Cheaper and they work.

Samsung Q70 is at 14k
This is a great price compared to takealot.
I see it’s cheaper at hirschs too (can also use ebucks)

I think I need to find a friend with a tv license (company takealot account already has a tv license loaded so that’s why ideally would go with them)

If you think that is epic, you will love the 120fps @ 4k mode. It's even epicerer.

This is post is not sponsored by Epic
yah, just bit the bullet and purchased an LG CX 55".
so much for "casual" gaming, but other 120hz@4k tv's are also pretty pricey, so the price jump to OLED seemed to be worth it in the longer run

The controller can not charge AA rechargeable batteries.

I'm using these:

A charge lasts just as long as the Xbox battery pack. When the low battery indicator comes on, swap to the other two and put those on charge.

Lasts longer too since you effectively get two battery packs for half the price, and cheaper to replace when they do eventually start going...
