Considering that the One S is selling now for almost twice the price it was at launch, there might not be a depreciation.

That is because of current chip shortage. Makes no sense to buy a One S for the same price as a Series S.

December 2019 they where selling for R3k retail. Reason I remember is I was trying to decide between a PS4 + games for R3500 and XBone S for R3000 or XBone X for R4000. Then "life" happened and I had to replace tires instead.

Edit: Ok memory skewed the prices a bit. Found the old ad I was using to try and convince the SO to get one.

Close enough, I got an S for about R3599 back in 2018 so yeah seems about right, I know someone who paid R5k for the X just before lockdown.

I bought a Series X and my brother has the S. There isn't a game that he cant play that I can, and frankly I haven't really seen any games yet that truly tax the Series X. I'm sure they're coming but at this stage I think an S is a perfectly good investment, especially for a 10 year old and a casual gamer - you'll be fine with this setup. Use any spare cash to get a headset. Got a cheap Turtlebeach set myself and now I don't keep people awake if I steal a game late at night.

It's worth it, just for the respect you earn from people like me :D

The S is good value. The X is more the (almost) no compromise experience. Doubt you'll regret it.

So they are "sourcing in some of the consoles from some of our local JHB branches as I have run out of stock here at the HQ"

I really hope this doesn't turn into a "sorry, we are out of stock" story.

I need this delivered this week, so I can queue some downloads and binge the weekend :laugh:

my pass expire today (i have another one ,on another account).
so do i basically have until midnight to finish a game i started on that account (medium)?
is there a way to see how much do i have left (percentage)?
don't suppose i can move my saves to the other account?

Coming from a OneX I noticed it was faster but I wasn't exactly wowed due to it being essentially the identical interface to the previous gen. It was a rather underwhelming first experience honestly but doesn't make it a bad console, just didn't feel "new" like the PS5.

True, but there might be an argument for not needing to change something that works.

While the PS interface might have been fresh, now that the novelty has worn off there's plenty of complaints about it being less functional and harder to navigate quickly than the previous one...

Good times, my status has gone from `Processing` to `Processing Pre-Order` whatever that means. I am definitely not going to be getting this in the 2-4 days.

Maybe I will pop in at game4u canal walk when I am there later and see what their stock is like
