S supports 120 Hz, the games aren't always built to run at that on it...

Yup all the hype and for what? You might be able to get a game running at 60fps in performance mode, but it won't look like the screenshots, so 30fps is what you get for quality mode. This is an issue with this generation, but then again the previous generation said 60fps, the previous one was like eh you'll get picture on screenIt does support 120, the games on the other hand, is the question.
Some of the new games don't even hit 30 on the X so there is that. The S just has fewer 120 titles than X.

The reason why 60FPS+ took off at the end of the last generation is because of the mid cycle console improvements. The PS4 pro and One X could run the higher frame rates. And only because the games that launched back then had to be compatible with the stock standard PS4 and One S - which gave the newer and faster consoles the benefit of 60FPS.Yup all the hype and for what? I thought this was an PlayStation exclusive:

Browsing Xbox Black Friday sales and saw that^
I know its for PC but did not expect it to be on the Xbox Store front.
Well the PS4 and Xbox One generation were trying to go for 1080p gaming, which didn't happen, the 360 and PS3 were HD gaming which I mean they might've hit 720p on some games but they also barely hit 30fps a lot of the time. The reason why 60FPS+ took off at the end of the last generation is because of the mid cycle console improvements. Now when the new gen launched (PS5/SS/SX) the software companies are targeting better graphics (raytracing etc) first to show off - but frame rates are offcourse now suffering and back to 30FPS it is. Expect this to improve with a possible PS5 Pro....not sure about Xbox. Unlikely.
I missed you Splinter, it's been so long man <3Don't worry folks, I am not going to start a ruckus here just because AdrianH is having a frustrated-fanny attack in the PS5 thread![]()
