Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted from Microsoft stores and Steam in December

It will be just over six years old when it drives off into the sunset.

Key to note:
Forza Horizon 4’s DLC is being delisted beginning today. And if you played the game via Xbox Game Pass and already bought some DLC, you qualify for a token to download the full game and continue playing it after the delisting date. That game code will be sent to qualifying players who have a fully paid Xbox Game Pass subscription in the coming days and must be redeemed by June 25th, 2026.

Same reason 3 was dropped back in 2020, and why most car games dont normally stay forever.

Licenses.

Car games devs have to pay for a license to copy the car's, also for the music used in said games. They normally only make short time deals.

Come to think of it....future games should build in a replacement soundtrack with no licensing to replace the licensed content after it expires. Same for the cars. In most cases it's just the names right? The design of these cars cannot be copyrighted or am I wrong? Unless they of course worked with the guys to get professional legit scans and so on.

Even if crappier, this will still beat the game dying when licensing expires.

Its basically the branding, so if you License Ford as a whole, you can make cars that look like say Fiesta, but if you don't pay the license you have to change the shape so that it won't be mistaken for one.

As for the music they should just allow you to use your Spotify/Itunes or say Google Account to be used instead of providing Music.
 
hello all

got a older xbox one

yesterday a breaker broke on the mail pole causing a surge and my xbox i think could be fried

the power brick still has the orange light but when i press the power button it gives the xbox noise but makes a noise and goes off after a sec

is it the xbox or power brick ?
 
add to that xbox live was down just as my power came back on...sat for 45mins trying to get into both my series s boxes and not working and im like furk it this surge destroyed alles

mean while it was stupid xbl going down

now i must test them this morning to check if all is good
 
Wtf, Xbox Ultimate is going up to R199 a month, the price we briefly had the family plan at. I mean wtaf that's a 55% increase, I mean like seriously

Well they
1st kill the brand by shipping on PC day 1
Then dropping exclusives on PS5/Switch.
Then decided to push DEI and talk about not needing a console anymore.
May as well hammer in the final nail into the coffin.

The way things stand PS5 Extra is a better deal esp seeing that Sony have discounted 12 month (R1609 when not on sale) packages. Once my Ultimate ends, I'll be dropping to Core or cancel GP all together.

At least I have some time left before I have to decide:

Crazy. I know it hasn't gone up for a while now but an increase to R149 would have been bearable.

Hmm doesn't work for me. I need for pc + console and make extensive use of the ea play and riot games benefit.

I wonder if Microsoft wasn't leaking money because of ea play. Ea play is significantly more expensive stand alone now and you don't get it included with ps+

The pc game pass goes up from R79 to R119
 
I guess it was bound to happen with all the money that MS has been spending. I'm still paid up for a while but after that I will probably drop to Standard.

I wonder how long it will take for new titles to get onto Standard. Like Avowed and such.

Oooo I wonder if you can switch up and down the whole time. Ultimate for Avowed and then when done, switch to Standard again and so forth.
