Does the Mi Box respond when you use your tv remote, for example the arrow buttons?

My LG TV remote was working with Mi Box for a few months but now it doesnt work for some reason

I must say, the HDMI CEC works quite well.
If I ask my home mini to turn off the tv, it works, I assume via the Mi Box.

TV is an older Sony Bravia that is also connected to the WiFi, but definitely does not have android functions.

So, your TV and Box can communicate signals other than just the video and audio.

For example, I dont actually use the Mi Remote unless I need to power on the box. I can navigate around the box using my TV remote. And then when I adjust volume using the same TV remote, it adjusts my soundbar instead of the Mi Box

Strange, the it means CEC is working but the power signals dont work. Have you checked TV settings? Coz my Sony can actuslly be set to ignore power commands

I think the Mi remote is the problem because CEC works fine with my Apple TV remote. I don't think the Mi sends an off command.

Definitely works with my Sony 40W600B.
I think maybe CEC isn't always implemented exactly the same way amongst manufacturers.

I had one of these small keyboard/touchpad combos connected, but ended up using the android app as a keyboard and remote instead. Much easier.
