I finally got mine. Does any one know how to put MIUI 8 developer on these phones?

Don't know why you want the developer one, it's an older version, the stable 8 should be good too. But if you want it, see below.

Strange. Saw 2 redmi note 3s this week (that was ordered based on my recommendation to the new owners ) that was stuck on boot. TWO!
Basically what would happen is the owners would install the update to MIUI 7.5 during which the phone would restart. No issues.

Next time he/she restarts, the phone is stuck on the boot screen.

Okay but how do I get the stable 8? Because the Updater app only updates to 7.5.

When I download the stable version on my pc and copy it to the internal storage and then try to run it through Updater, I get an error along to lines of "file could not b verified". Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: I also can't boot into recovery mode. It gives me a black screen with an image of the phone and USB cable. Could the phone be locked and that's why I can't flash MIUI 8?

Called them again this morning and they told me it will be delivered in 5 to 6 days.

Cool! Do let me know whether everything is working fine post-update. I'm scared to recommend this phone to anyone if it refuses to boot in after the update was successfully installed (phone successfully reboots during update, but enters bootloop after manually restarting after that)
